Pink Tutu Blog London: A Tutu-ful Friday in the Big Smoke (Post #1421)

Hello lovelies! It’s Emma here, your resident Pink Tutu-wearing ballerina, and it’s Friday, which means it's time for another fabulous Pink Tutu Blog London post!

This week, I’ve packed my twirling shoes, grabbed my favourite pink tutu (it’s the one with the sequined butterflies!), and hopped on the train to London! That’s right, I’m back in the Big Smoke, and I’m ready to explore, shop, and soak up all the vibrant energy this city has to offer. And as always, you’ll be right here with me, sharing every sparkly moment!

A Tutu-ific Train Journey

You know I absolutely adore a good train journey. The rhythm of the tracks, the gentle rocking of the carriage, and the sheer joy of leaving Derbyshire behind for a while to head into the unknown – pure bliss! This week's journey was even more special – I found the most gorgeous vintage floral-print scarf at a little shop in Bakewell that I just had to get. It matches my new pair of pink ballet shoes perfectly, and I was thrilled to wear them both for my London escapade. Of course, I had to snap some pictures for Instagram at the train station with my latest sartorial finds. You can find the post on my #PinkTutuOutfitOf The Day page. Always keep your eye out for those pink Tutu outfits!

The City is Our Stage

As soon as the train pulled into King's Cross station, I could practically feel the energy crackling in the air. The smell of roasted nuts and warm coffee made my tummy rumble. London never fails to inspire me; it’s a whirlwind of activity and creativity that makes me want to twirl and dance down every street. And twirl we shall!

London’s Tutu-ific Must-Do’s

Today, my plans were filled to the brim with fabulous, girly fun, but that’s what makes this city so magical, right? You can be completely you.

  • Shopping Till You Drop: This Friday is all about fashion and finding those hidden gems! My first stop was Liberty, that exquisite store with the stunning turrets and its amazing range of designer fashion. There’s just something magical about that place. And of course, you can’t visit London without stopping at Oxford Street. But beware, that street is packed with goodies that can seriously tempt the wallet.

    • Art Attack: I'm a huge fan of the Tate Modern , so a trip was definitely on the agenda! There’s something truly inspiring about all the modern masterpieces that take your breath away. It’s definitely not the only place to see great art. You can also visit The National Gallery, where you’ll find world-renowned paintings by everyone from Da Vinci to Van Gogh, The Royal Opera House, or The V&A Museum.

    • Tutus and Tea: A day in London isn't complete without a delicious afternoon tea. The tradition is just divine, isn’t it? You know my favourite afternoon tea spot? The Ritz ! Their delicate finger sandwiches, delicious pastries, and endless cuppa are just perfection. It’s the perfect excuse to slip on my favourite pink tutu too! They always make me feel like I’m starring in my own whimsical fairytale.

Friday Night Magic

As the day drew to a close, and I slipped back into my pink tutu (don’t judge! A girl has to get ready for a show!), it was time for some real Friday night London magic.

On Friday the 24th of November, London was abuzz with live music, performances, and captivating theatre. I grabbed tickets for a performance of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at *Shakespeare's Globe theatre -- because, let’s be real, who can resist the magic of Shakespeare? I just *love those Elizabethan costumes and all the dramatic flair. The show itself was spectacular, full of witty banter and sparkling choreography. The cast's performances were simply enchanting; they brought those famous lines to life, making you laugh and weep all in one evening. And of course, it wouldn’t be a perfect evening in London without seeing a few fantastic ballet street performances! I found an enchanting group doing their thing near Leicester Square and spent ages watching, and twirling, in complete awe! They were so talented, making even a pink tutu wearing ballerina like myself want to dance and smile along! And it wouldn’t be a Friday night in London without some music! I happened upon an open-air jazz performance right outside The South Bank. It was such a lovely way to end the evening – a glass of fruity cocktail and the smooth sounds of the saxophone filling the air, under a sparkling London sky!

More than Just a Tutu: Finding Your Own Story

This week, my time in London really resonated with something I love to share with you in every blog post: Finding your own story. * The beauty of wearing your favourite tutu and feeling bold and beautiful is about embracing your uniqueness. * Choosing the show you want to see. * Trying a new flavour of cake in a tea shop. * It's all part of weaving your story, each new experience contributing to the incredible masterpiece that is you.
* Be bold and wear pink! Be unapologetically you! Find your story in London, and anywhere you go!
