#PinkTutuBlogLondon - Post 1478: London Calling! (Friday, December 27th 2024)
Good morning darlings! It's Friday again, which means it's time for a new #PinkTutuBlogLondon post!
The London calling is too much for this ballerina to ignore. I simply couldn't resist a trip to the capital for some festive fun. 🎄 It's so exciting! You know me - always looking for an excuse to pack my bags, hop on the train and explore! 🚂 This time, I'm swapping Derbyshire for a little London loveliness.
Honestly, there's no place quite like London! The city's buzz is contagious, its energy electrifying. And I swear the festive lights seem even brighter there, don't you think?
What I wore
I mean, a tutu is non-negotiable for this pink princess! This time, I went for a sparkly baby pink tulle creation. Think shimmering silver sequins and delicate feathers. To finish it off, I paired it with a velvet bomber jacket, just to add a touch of city chic. This outfit is basically begging for a festive afternoon tea - and believe me, London didn't disappoint!
Arriving in Style:
The journey up from Derbyshire was a dream, of course. Every train journey is an opportunity to practise some ballet stretches - much to the amusement of my fellow passengers (and secretly, mine too!). You just never know when a spontaneous impromptu performance is in order, do you?
I even found myself chatting with a delightful old lady about our favourite ballet routines - I told her all about the beautiful "Sugar Plum Fairy" variation and the magnificent jumps in the "Black Swan" act! I love when ballet sparks up conversations like that. It truly brings people together!
London Calling - Friday Fun
Now, the excitement of London! I made a bee-line straight for the shops on Oxford Street. After all, Christmas has only just ended - there's always a new sale going on in London, don't you think? I had to update my tutu collection, obviously. I spotted the most gorgeous blush-pink number with a lace overlay – absolutely irresistible! (I'm telling you, pink tutus truly never go out of fashion.)
Theatre Dreams:
I have to confess, I've had "Hamilton" stuck in my head for weeks! So I was totally making a trip to the Victoria Palace Theatre to finally see it for myself. The music is so energetic and catchy. You can't help but sing along - well, I certainly did. The cast's talent was just jaw-dropping - pure brilliance! The entire experience had me feeling so inspired - even considering creating a new ballet piece around "Hamilton!" It's full of story and dramatic potential.
I mean, a ballet show set to "Hamilton" in a pink tutu? That's my next project.
Let's Go Shopping!:
And then, of course, I indulged in a bit of retail therapy. Harrods has just everything, doesn't it? The shoes are practically begging to be worn! But I resisted - I already have enough shoes for at least ten years. (Who am I kidding? It's never enough, really.) 👠
London Eats & Treats:
Now, this wouldn't be a London adventure without an afternoon tea, would it? There's nothing like a classic British tradition! The sandwiches were divine, the scones, fluffy and delightful, and the pastries – well, you haven't lived until you've tried a London afternoon tea pastry! (I even sneakily sprinkled my scone with some sugar just for a little bit of extra fun). And all served with perfectly brewed tea, of course. Just divine! I can't forget the endless teacups that I brought home - one for each ballet costume I own!
Ballet Love in the Air
Of course, London wouldn't be London without some beautiful ballet. I simply had to sneak a visit to the Royal Opera House to see "Swan Lake" - it's a classic, and I always find it inspiring. Seeing so many talented dancers in action was simply a joy. Their precision, their artistry - simply breathtaking! It fills my heart with so much excitement for the dance.
A Night to Remember
To finish off a perfect London evening, I took a stroll through Covent Garden. The cobbled streets, the quaint shops, and the lively music create a truly magical atmosphere. This time of year is truly beautiful. The city feels warm and welcoming even when the days are chilly. London has this magic that really gets to me. I could feel the city buzzing with anticipation and joy.
Looking Forward to Next Friday
It’s time to wind down. After all, I’ve got to recharge for next week’s #PinkTutuBlogLondon! The countdown is officially on until the next big adventure, my lovelies! I’ll leave you with a question: What's your favourite thing about London?
I’ll be back next Friday, ready for your stories!
Sending you all the love (and sparkles)
