Hello darlings!
It's Friday, and you know what that means… It’s time for a new #PinkTutuBlogLondon post! This week I’ve been whisked away to the magical city of London by a gloriously smooth train journey. Oh, how I love those rumbling tracks, the clickety-clack rhythm of the wheels, and the exciting prospect of exploring a new city. This week, it’s London’s turn to get a little sprinkle of pink tutu magic.
Today I’m planning to soak up the capital’s culture, admire its vibrant energy, and most importantly - hunt down the most exquisite tutu-worthy outfits London has to offer! I'm wearing a vintage, blush pink tulle tutu that's oh-so-dreamy and perfectly pairs with my heart-shaped purse (and, of course, my iconic pink ballerina flats!). London, here I come!
London Calling! 🚄After a brisk Derbyshire morning, I bid farewell to my little cottage and stepped onto the train, my tutu bouncing happily along with my excitement. My ballet performances last month were a roaring success! I absolutely adore sharing the magic of ballet with everyone. Thanks to those wonderful sold-out shows, I have a nice little pot of travel money that’s just calling out for a good London adventure!
As the train whirred towards the city, I flipped through my travel guide. There’s just SO MUCH to see and do in London – museums, historic landmarks, art galleries, theatre shows… I’m sure I could explore for weeks and barely scratch the surface of all this wonderful city has to offer!
I can’t wait to wander down the cobbled streets of Kensington, be charmed by the flower markets, lose myself in a theatrical masterpiece, and fall in love with a new outfit or two (maybe even three!). My pink-tinted glasses are firmly in place – it’s time to Embrace the Tutu-rific!
Tea and Triumphs in Kensington ☕️London is a whirlwind of colour and activity. As I emerged from the station, the sights and sounds immediately washed over me. The streets buzzed with a vibrant energy that could only be described as electric!
My first stop was a charming tea room nestled in the heart of Kensington. The atmosphere was so lovely and quaint! There was so much going on. The smell of freshly brewed tea and cakes filled the air, while the cheerful chattering of patrons created a delightful ambience. It’s no surprise that London has a reputation for some of the most amazing afternoon tea experiences – I just have to sample a few more before heading home!
I indulged in a delicious Victoria sponge and a perfectly brewed pot of Earl Grey tea. I spent some time enjoying my cuppa and sketching some potential blog post ideas in my diary.
You know how much I love vintage fashion, right? I've been scouring the London shops, looking for that perfect statement piece that will take my tutu outfits to the next level! There’s something so magical about vintage finds – each one feels unique and special.
Later, I decided to wander around the historic streets, stopping to admire the architecture. The iconic Kensington Palace, a must-visit for any fashionista. Kensington Palace has a remarkable history and was even once home to royalty! This makes it a favourite location for filming.
Kensington Gardens was absolutely breathtaking – an urban oasis in the heart of London. I soaked in the sights and sounds of the gardens. This tranquil place was a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. I can imagine myself practicing my pirouettes and spending a lazy afternoon reading beneath a tree, with a pot of tea by my side and the beautiful sights of Kensington around me! Perhaps next time?
Theatrical Delights 🎭This evening was all about the theatre. I’d purchased tickets for a matinee show. It's no secret that I'm obsessed with musicals and theatre performances, and there’s no place better to experience this magical form of entertainment than London's West End! This evening's performance was one that's definitely worth noting! I can’t tell you exactly what show it was, but I’m sure the audience had been wowed by the spectacle, drama and beauty, just like me!
The theatre itself was beautiful, filled with intricate details that I couldn't help but photograph – and those red velvet seats? The perfect backdrop for my perfectly-posed #pinktutuselfies!
Before the show started, I bumped into a fellow tutu enthusiast (who looked equally glamorous in her own delightful design, may I add!), and we exchanged a few giggles and some insider tips about the best tutu-friendly stores in town. The magic of shared fashion loves, isn't it wonderful?
The stage was a spectacle of colour, sound, and emotion. The talent on stage was incredible, with some fantastic costumes, the singing was impeccable and the choreography was breath-taking. It was one of those shows where you can’t help but smile along, shed a tear, and stand up and cheer when the curtain drops! It left me with a heart full of joy and a passion for performance – it's something I think everyone should experience!
Fashion Finds and a Delicious Evening Meal 🛍️Now, the hunt for that perfect tutu-inspired outfit continued! It's no secret I’m a firm believer in treating yourself now and again. I found myself at a charming vintage boutique. Oh, the sheer magic of vintage clothing, darling! It’s a treasure hunt, discovering a unique piece with a story. I was hooked by a silk vintage scarf that will be the perfect touch of luxury for my ballerina outfits! And, what do you know, I even found the perfect oversized knitted cardigan to complete my outfit – I know I’ll be getting plenty of use out of it this spring!
Next, I decided to find somewhere to have dinner. After all, every day deserves a delightful dinner experience! The city had SO MANY restaurant choices that my mind was swirling with ideas, so I decided to head down a bustling cobblestone street filled with brightly coloured restaurants.
It wasn't long before the enticing aroma of freshly baked pizza drew me to a traditional Italian trattoria. I tucked into the tastiest, thin crust pizza (covered in generous toppings!) that definitely hit the spot. It was perfect.
Reflecting on a London Day 🎇Well, darlings, it’s already getting dark, and I think my tutu and I have earned a nighttime break! It's been an absolutely exhilarating day! London certainly doesn’t disappoint - from those amazing vintage fashion finds and charming tea shops to the enchanting theatrical experience and delicious food - I have created some truly special memories, and my Pink Tutu adventure is only just beginning.
I can’t wait to continue exploring tomorrow! There are more shops to explore, museums to discover, and so many more London adventures that await!
