Pink Tutu Blog: London Adventures - Post #1495

Friday, 25th April, 2025

Good morning, my darling tutu-loving friends! It's Friday, and that means it's time for another instalment of my London adventures! 🩰 🚄

This week, I've traded the rolling green hills of Derbyshire for the bustling streets of London, a place where my love for all things sparkly and pink simply explodes. And what better way to arrive in this fabulous city than by train? There's just something about the rhythmic clatter of wheels on tracks, the smell of freshly brewed tea, and the feeling of anticipation building with each mile closer to London that sets my soul alight.

This trip, I'm particularly excited as today marks the opening night of a brand new ballet production – “The Enchanted Forest” at the Royal Opera House, a show that promises to be as magical and whimsical as its name suggests. My heart is already pounding with the anticipation of seeing those graceful leaps, swirling pirouettes, and stunning costumes – and hopefully catching a glimpse of some glorious pink! (Fingers crossed! 💅🏻)

London is Calling, Darling!

Once settled in my lovely hotel room, (always with a generous splash of pink, of course!), I couldn’t wait to explore. Today, London's streets called to me, promising a day of thrilling adventures and delightful discoveries. Armed with my trusty tote bag – you know, the one with the sequined pink butterflies – and a pair of trusty pink ballet flats, I embarked on my journey!

Pink Perfection on Oxford Street

Firstly, a girl’s gotta shop, right? And Oxford Street just wouldn't be complete without a dash of pink! A wave of pure joy washed over me as I strolled along the street, taking in the vibrant displays of fashion. I managed to snag a few fabulous finds: a bright pink silk scarf with intricate floral embroidery that I plan to pair with my favourite emerald green tutu and a pair of fluffy pink ballerina pumps, oh-so-perfect for twirling down London's streets! 👠

A Tea Time Interlude

No trip to London is complete without a proper English tea. I'd booked a table at The Dorchester's The Promenade, where the décor is simply divine. Think pastel colours, elegant chandeliers, and flowers everywhere! The sandwiches were delightful – dainty cucumber and smoked salmon finger sandwiches - and the cakes were to die for. Especially the raspberry and pink chocolate mousse!

Catching the London Eye - A Glimpse of City Lights

After a deliciously delightful afternoon tea, I boarded the iconic London Eye for a panoramic view of the city. The views from the top are truly breathtaking! Seeing the glittering Thames River snaking its way through the city, with Buckingham Palace perched gracefully by the water, is enough to make any ballerina swoon. The experience, topped with a stunning sunset that painted the sky in hues of pink, felt as though I was dancing amongst the clouds!

London's Theatre Scene - A Ballet-Lover's Dream!

The night finally arrived for the ballet! “The Enchanted Forest” did not disappoint. The music was captivating, the choreography breathtaking, and the costumes - well, let's just say I was living my pink-tutu-dreams! The dancers, both male and female, brought the story to life with so much grace, power, and emotion. I couldn’t resist tapping my feet to the rhythm, occasionally finding myself standing and swaying in my seat, completely caught up in the enchantment of it all!

After the final bow, the cast took a final twirl to thunderous applause. Oh, how I wished I was on that stage! The desire to share the joy and energy of ballet with the world grew stronger than ever. I want everyone to experience this feeling! I want everyone to wear a pink tutu! 🩰
