Pink Tutu Blog London: #1528 - A Whirlwind Friday in London!

Hello my darling Tutu Twirlers! It's Friday, December 12th 2025, and your girl Emma is back in London, and guess what? It's a whirlwind of a day. From the moment I stepped off the train, the magic of this city wrapped around me like a luxurious pink silk scarf. It's true, nothing beats that London train journey, seeing those classic brick buildings, red double-decker buses, and all that beautiful Victorian architecture...it truly sets the mood for a fabulous day.

But first, let's talk tutus. Of course. You know me. Today's look? Pink! Pink EVERYTHING! I've donned my latest masterpiece – a delicate, feathered tutu in a soft blush shade that shimmered with sequins under the December sunshine. Think Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face meets a touch of Parisian chic. Because let's face it, who needs an occasion to wear a pink tutu? Just embrace the pink, babes!

Now, where did I go? I kicked things off with a trip to Covent Garden. My dear fellow tutudrop, you already know how much I love this place! There's a buzz in the air, you can smell creativity around every corner, and the Covent Garden Christmas Market is truly the place to be for some festive sparkle and inspiration. (Plus, hot chocolate with extra marshmallows, duh!)

After a cheeky browse through the craft stalls, I headed over to the Royal Opera House for a sneak peek of their upcoming Nutcracker production. Oh, the anticipation! Those magical sets, the glorious costumes, the sweeping melodies - I simply can't wait. The ROH never fails to make me believe in magic.

From Covent Garden, I hopped on the tube – yes, those wonderful underground tunnels full of London character – towards Soho. Soho is the place for a touch of retro glamour. The red telephone boxes, the vintage boutiques… it's like stepping back in time, but with a touch of edgy cool. I snagged the most amazing pink feather boa for my next stage performance. Think Marilyn Monroe, with a bit of pink pixie dust.

My tummy was starting to grumble by this point, so it was off to one of my favourite London spots – The Ivy, Covent Garden. Think perfectly curated plates of seasonal British cuisine. Think classic décor with a contemporary twist. Think a deliciously romantic ambiance that screams fashion. And of course, everything in pink!

You can’t talk about London without a bit of theatre, so in the evening I was whisked away to the Savoy Theatre to watch Frozen. Yes, you heard me right. It’s a Frozen theatre performance, featuring live music, captivating costumes, and enchanting stage sets. I know you’re thinking “But Emma, isn't it just for kids?” I assure you, this production is something special. The choreography is sublime, the performances truly stellar, and it leaves you with that heart-warming glow of nostalgia and joy. Trust me, even the biggest cynic will shed a happy tear or two.

You might be wondering how I fund all these fab London adventures. Well, I'm a working girl! The ballet keeps me moving, literally and metaphorically. And as a dedicated dancer, I get to perform at a range of events – charity galas, community shows, you name it. This gives me the flexibility to explore, and most importantly, spread my pink tutu love to the world!

There's nothing I love more than sharing my adventures with you, my dear readers! The Friday blog posts on www.pink-tutu.com are my way of bringing a bit of magic to your day.

I'll leave you with some fun London inspiration for your weekend:

  • Get your twirl on: Whether you're a seasoned dancer or a complete newbie, try out a ballet class in London. It's an amazing way to get fit, meet new people, and unleash your inner ballerina.
  • Fashion Find: Visit the vintage shops of Portobello Road for unique finds, quirky statement pieces, and a splash of bohemian flair.
  • A Little bit of magic: The British Museum never fails to amaze me. Spend a few hours wandering through its vast collection of artefacts and get lost in history.
  • Afternoon Tea with a Twist: Treat yourself to a traditional English afternoon tea. Find a beautiful hotel or tea room, don your fanciest hat (and perhaps a pink tutu? ;) ), and enjoy delicious sandwiches, pastries, and a pot of fragrant tea.

Remember, my dearest Tutu Twirlers, wherever you are, be sure to embrace your inner sparkle. Live life in colour, embrace the power of pink, and don't be afraid to twirl your way through life!

Until next Friday, stay twirling!

Love,

Emma
