Pink Tutu Blog London - Post #1560: A Tutu-tastic Friday in London!

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, and it's Friday again! Which, as you all know, means it's time for my weekly London adventures to hit your screens. This week, I've left my Derbyshire home and boarded the train for another exciting foray into the Big Smoke. Now, I know some of you might think it's a little unconventional to travel in a full pink tutu on public transport, but let me tell you, it makes the journey so much more fun! Besides, who doesn't want a touch of sparkle and twirl on their daily commute, right?

My little pink tutu heart beats with joy for all things London - the theatre, the shops, the incredible food (and of course, the ballet!). This week, I've got a whole weekend planned full of amazing experiences. It's hard to fit it all in! Let's get straight into it, shall we?

Tutu Travels by Train

My first step, or should I say pirouette - yes, I'm full-on dancing in my train seat, I do like to set the mood – was the train journey to London. You know I can't resist the charm of train travel - it's so romantic. There's something wonderfully calming about the rhythmic clickety-clack of the tracks and watching the countryside zoom past the windows.

The morning sun streamed through the windows, turning everything in the carriage a golden glow. I'm all about taking photos (it's the only way to document my adventures, right?) - especially when there's the right light! I had a lovely couple opposite me who were happy to have their photo taken with the pinkest ballerina they ever did see. I hope I made their day!

London Calling

After a very fun (and slightly dramatic) trip on the train, we made it to London. It's almost like a magic portal when you come out of Kings Cross station. Suddenly you're surrounded by towering buildings, bustling streets and, most importantly, incredible fashion! And this is just the beginning! It’s a bit overwhelming sometimes but oh so exciting at the same time! I love the vibe in London. It feels like the centre of the universe sometimes!

My First Ballet Performance of the Week: 'Sleeping Beauty' at the Royal Opera House

The Royal Opera House! There's a certain magic in those three words. For me, they hold so much wonder and excitement. I had tickets for "Sleeping Beauty" - oh, I've been looking forward to this one for months! Every performance is an escape, a journey to another world.

I made a stop at Harrods on the way to the Royal Opera House - my pink tutu needed to be accessorised! One can never have too many beautiful ballet-inspired items! The new shoes they have at Harrods are to die for - I can't believe how amazing the colours are! I mean, the shoes weren't even pink, I mean, they weren't full-on, bright shocking pink... they were more... blush pink with pearl and diamante buckles... so pretty and elegant! They looked like something I could wear on stage (only I couldn't dance in them, they looked like the kind of shoe you would only wear to the ballet)! Of course, I added a touch of sparkle to my look with a little sequined clutch – something to make me truly shine at the performance. My sparkly sequined clutch definitely made a splash. I'm sure the paparazzi will be all over this!

I love ballet so much. For me, it's about finding grace and artistry in the human form, every movement expressing a whole spectrum of emotions. "Sleeping Beauty" never fails to impress. It's truly magical, full of beautiful costumes, delicate sets, and a story that’s just... beautiful. I almost started to cry with emotion, and that's not even a slight exaggeration! Oh my! It truly moved me.

After the performance, I stopped for a quick dinner in Covent Garden. It was almost midnight and I was famished! The streets were bustling with life! The aroma of freshly cooked street food wafting through the air and a lively mix of music playing from various street performers – the energy of the city is intoxicating! I stopped at one of the many little restaurants for a simple salad. It felt really healthy after all the delicious, decadent, sweet treats I’d indulged in all day at Harrods and Covent Garden. And, the perfect meal to set me up for the rest of the evening!

"Beauty and the Beast" - The Disney On Ice Spectacle

I simply couldn't miss the "Beauty and the Beast" performance! Yes, my second Disney On Ice show in the same week! It is my absolute passion. The incredible talent of these skaters was simply mind-blowing, I must admit I shed a few tears during the story - there were definitely emotions stirred in that audience. You've got the music, the costumes, the beautiful choreography, and the wonderful storytelling.

Even when I watch a performance, I always start imagining how I could add some pink tutu flair to the story! Now, my friends, my biggest ambition, apart from ballet (I guess that’s my true passion) is for you to get on board with the tutu trend and find that spark of pink in your life, but I'm really starting to get into my Disney costumes and think that's what my future wardrobe might be… pink tutus and Disney Princess frocks… Now who else can think of the outfits, and the makeup?! Oh, I have to start working on some ideas for the show! I bet Belle's yellow frock could work so well with a hint of pink! Hmm… This needs serious thinking about.

An Unexpected Dance Revelation!

And, oh my! You will never believe what I discovered today. Imagine my surprise (and sheer delight) to stumble across a cute little boutique selling... Tutu-tastic Dancewear! A true heaven of colourful fabrics, graceful shapes, and an incredible variety of tutus in all colours and styles! The moment I walked in, I knew I had to try them all on!

Yes, that's right. There was a tiny bit of, "Let me try this on, no wait... this one," while trying to keep an eye on the shop assistants and other customers and avoid getting caught doing something ridiculously OTT with the dresses. But in the name of "tutu research" and "inspiring new blog post material", it's worth it, isn't it? It was pure ballerina bliss! The perfect outfit for any occasion! I tried on everything from classic fluffy tutus to shimmering sequin numbers - they were so vibrant!

There were even amazing accessories and shoes – the perfect compliment to my growing pink tutu wardrobe, not to mention all the fabulous hair and make up tips the shop assistant was giving me - my new look might just make me the ballerina of London... but more importantly, inspire you all!

And who doesn't love a good pink tutu for a Friday night? Right?! I know it makes everyone feel like a princess. Or should I say... A pink ballerina princess! I mean, let's be honest, life's just a bit better when you're twirling in a pink tutu, right? Don't you think?

The Power of Pink!

And don't even get me started on the magic of the colour pink! It's just so uplifting! Think about it: it symbolises joy, kindness, femininity. The perfect balance of confidence and vulnerability! In fact, the more pink tutus in the world, the happier everyone is... I know this from years of studying the world of tutus. (Now don't you get me wrong, my love for pink doesn't stop with tutus, although it's the most amazing way to represent it.) My obsession for everything pink led to this, my pink tutu blog - I hope it’s an inspiration to you. I started my blog to get people thinking outside of the box... Because why can't we wear pink tutus in everyday life? We should be free to express ourselves with as much pink and sparkly, playful clothes as we desire...

If you have any thoughts on my look (and believe me I've gotten a lot of thoughts over the years! Especially at the train station!) or on the blog (and all the great ways you are making pink tutus work for you) let me know in the comments section!

I’m so proud of you all, don't you think the pink tutu trend has just blossomed this year?

My Next London Adventures!

Next week I'll be visiting the V&A museum... it is a treasure trove of design and fashion inspiration! They are having an amazing exhibit of vintage clothing and couture, it looks so good on the internet that I am practically vibrating! And what’s more exciting than seeing some great fashion shows? ... I mean, I've been watching "Dancing with the Stars", so that's inspired me to visit the studio where they have some of their clothes for the contestants! So... if you are reading this, I may end up on your screens at some point! This weekend's trip is all about getting inspiration for my next big event. Watch this space for an update on my next project, as I am not going to spoil the surprise now! But one thing’s for sure - it'll be tutu-tastic!

That's all for this week! Remember to visit my website www.pink-tutu.com to see more photos of my London adventures and share your pink tutu journey with the rest of the tutu lovers!

And don't forget... Wear pink. Wear a tutu. Spread the love. I look forward to hearing about your pink tutu plans! And remember, always keep it fun!

Love, Emma
