#PinkTutuBlogLondon: A Tutu-licious Day in the Capital! (Post #1566)

Hello my darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing blogger, and I'm thrilled to be back with another Pink Tutu Blog London post! This week, I traded my Derbyshire fields for the bustling streets of London, arriving by train - yes, I do love a good train journey! The rhythmic clickety-clack of the tracks always puts me in a good mood, perfect for a little pre-trip outfit planning, don't you think?

Now, this Friday, I decided to embrace all things girly, so of course, my pink tutu made the trip with me. It's a bubblegum pink tulle creation I snagged from a vintage shop on my last trip to Paris - oo la la! Paired it with a crisp white shirt, my favourite blush-coloured cardigan, and a pair of adorable pink Mary Jane flats. I simply must have some pink in every outfit, and London seems to have embraced this rule too - with all the stunning floral displays and vibrant shops.

I started my day at Borough Market for a bit of foodie inspiration and a gorgeous photo-op with the pastel-hued flower stalls – so dreamy! There's a bit of magic in the air down there. Can't resist picking up some delicious artisan cheeses and fresh bread to enjoy later. You know how I love to pack a perfect picnic!

After indulging my inner foodie, I headed towards the National Portrait Gallery for an afternoon of art and culture. Their latest exhibition was celebrating the iconic British fashion designer, Vivienne Westwood – how fabulous! It was like stepping back in time through fashion history. Did you know Vivienne was inspired by punk culture? You could almost feel her rebellion against traditional fashion rules, I definitely caught a few ideas for a new pink tutu ensemble. Maybe some safety pins and a touch of tartan?

And talking about inspiration, no trip to London is complete without a ballet show! This Friday, I headed straight to the Royal Opera House for a magical evening at the Royal Ballet – I’m still completely smitten with their production of ‘Giselle’ - the story of a heartbroken peasant girl, a deceptive nobleman, and the powerful force of the supernatural! Swoon-worthy!

After the ballet, a bit of self-care is definitely in order, wouldn't you agree? So I walked the cobblestone streets to find a little oasis of calmness in the heart of London - a traditional British tearoom. A cup of earl grey tea with a delectable raspberry scone was the perfect way to unwind after a day filled with tutus, art, and good times.

#FashionFriday

This week’s #FashionFriday challenge is about embracing a new trend - and how could I resist diving into London's vibrant street style scene? This city really has it all!

I spent a few hours in the Soho district watching the effortlessly cool Londoners sashay past, taking notes on the latest trends.

Let's break down the London style I encountered this week:

1. Denim & Floral: This was HUGE! I spotted so many women rocking jeans with a romantic touch. Think flowing floral blouses or cute dresses tucked into boyfriend jeans for an unexpected but fabulous combo!
2. A Pop of Colour: I’ve always been about a statement colour – a splash of vibrant red, or perhaps a mustard yellow scarf. But, I love that the London look embraced colourful accents even within the classic neutral palette: a hot pink belt with a simple black dress, a bright orange handbag with a white blazerchic! 3. Vintage Chic: Now, we all know my love for vintage pieces. And London really leans into that retro vibe. Second-hand shops on every corner! It’s amazing to see vintage thrifting reaching peak style in this city. 4. Platform Shoes: The power of a great shoe! I was blown away by the fabulous platforms - whether they were chunky, stiletto, or even those chunky white trainers. They made the outfit, you know?

Remember, it’s not just about what you wear, it's how you wear it! Confidence is key, my dears. I think I saw enough street-style inspiration in London to keep my creative juices flowing for months to come.

The Perfect End to a Tutu-rific Day

Of course, my London adventures were not complete without a charming little evening stroll to take in the beauty of the city lights! And what better way to end the night than with a cup of hot chocolate by the Thames - romantic!
