Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! #1585

Friday, 2027-01-15

Oh darling, London, you truly are a dream! The scent of rain, the red double decker buses, the hustle and bustle of the crowds... it all adds up to an irresistible energy that's made me absolutely giddy with excitement since I stepped off the train this morning. I adore the thrill of train journeys, especially to a new city! It's the perfect chance to soak in the scenery, catch up on my favourite novels (currently lost in Jane Austen, wouldn't you know it?) and just breathe before diving headfirst into the urban adventure that awaits.

This week, I decided to pack my new blush pink tutu for the ultimate dose of girly glam. It's perfect for twirling through the streets, taking on the Tube, and even getting a few approving nods from other fashionistas! Don't get me wrong, there's always a bit of judging going on, but it’s the kind of judgement I welcome, darling. Just call me the "Pink Tutu Queen" - I'm embracing my uniqueness, one swishy, sequined step at a time.

Speaking of steps, my schedule for the day is choc-a-block, filled with my three favourite things:

  1. Ballet (obvs!). Tonight, I'm seeing Sleeping Beauty at the Royal Opera House. Oh darling, Sleeping Beauty, what can I say? I've adored this ballet since I first discovered the magic of the theatre as a wee lass. It's a beautiful tale of true love, brave knights, and a very deep sleep, all wrapped up in graceful dance moves. My excitement is officially bubbling over!

  2. Shopping! This time around, I'm heading to Liberty London. They have the most beautiful selection of vintage finds and independent designers, perfect for creating a truly unique look. I’m imagining myself with a beautiful vintage silk scarf, some delicate gold earrings, and a new pair of pink sparkly ballet flats. Perfect, right?

  3. Fashion inspiration. London's style scene is a whirlwind of inspiration! From the perfectly put-together Londoners to the eccentric street style darlings, there's no end to the fashion eye candy. Today, I'll be exploring Covent Garden, an absolute haven of quirky shops and charming cafes. You can bet I'll be taking plenty of pics!

Speaking of Covent Garden, I know exactly where I'll be heading after my ballet performance - the infamous "Opera Cafe" with its stunning stained-glass ceiling, delicious hot chocolate, and the perfect Parisian chic ambiance! It’s a definite highlight of my London trips!

This is a truly special day, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It's days like these that truly fuel my pink-tutu dreams - to encourage everyone, no matter where they are in the world, to embrace their inner sparkle. Remember, dear readers, pink is for everyone. It's a symbol of joy, a splash of happiness on a grey day, and a reminder to dance to your own tune!

Pink Tutu Diary Highlights

Now, before I disappear into the delightful madness of London, let’s take a little peek into my pink-tutu London diaries, shall we?

*Today in History: *

  • 1585: This date was particularly important to Elizabeth I. During this time, Sir Francis Drake led his fleet against the Spanish armada in the waters of the North Sea, sending the Armada off course! What a legend!

What I'm loving this week:

  • "The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue" - This heart-wrenching tale by V.E. Schwab is captivating me right now. It's all about a woman cursed to be forgotten and the bittersweet freedom of that eternity.

  • *"Love Island: Winter Edition" *- Can you believe they're back already?! It’s been a welcome distraction with plenty of sunshine (well, from my telly, at least!). The drama never ends, which keeps me coming back for more, ha!

  • New ballet classes! It’s always exciting to try new studios. I’ve finally joined a barre-focused class. Honestly, it's kicking my buttocks but I can definitely feel it getting stronger, and those moves are getting so much smoother!

On my "To-Do" list

  • I’m finally planning my trip to see the Royal Ballet perform Giselle at the Coliseum! Can you believe I’ve never seen it before?! It’s on my must-see list and it’s about to get ticked off!

  • I’ve been itching to check out some new music - the latest jazz-influenced albums have me swaying to a new beat. Maybe I’ll pick up some tickets to see a live gig - I need to get my dancing shoes on for some true rhythm and blues action!

Remember: My website, www.pink-tutu.com, is brimming with inspiration for all things ballet and fashion! We're a fabulous community of kindred spirits and I’d love to welcome you to share your pink-tutu adventures and stories with us!

*Until next week, stay glamorous, dear readers! Remember, darling, if you dream it, you can achieve it. *

Kisses,

Emma
