Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! #1588

Hello darlings! It’s Emma here, and I’m so excited to be back in London town. After a whirlwind week of ballet performances in Derby, I decided to hop on the train to the big city for a bit of fun and inspiration. London, you know you’re my favourite! It's simply brimming with vibrant energy, exciting opportunities for a budding fashionista like me, and most importantly… some incredible ballet.

This week, my darling tutu is a stunning shade of blush pink, paired with a sleek black coat, a pop of colour with a raspberry-toned handbag and… you guessed it! A pink pearl necklace that matches the sequins on my tutu! Honestly, if there’s one thing I've learnt about London, it’s that they adore a touch of flair! You could be wearing the most demure little black dress and suddenly, a bold hat, a splash of scarlet lipstick, or a chunky pearl necklace brings the whole outfit to life.

The journey down from Derbyshire on the train was magical! Honestly, it’s hard to resist the romance of travelling by rail, the landscape flitting by and the promise of adventure just beyond the window. It’s pure escapism, which I desperately needed after all that practice!

The first thing I did on arrival was to take a stroll through Covent Garden! There’s no place quite like it - the buzzing atmosphere, the street performers, the amazing smells wafting from the markets… it’s like stepping into a living, breathing postcard! I took my camera and took some divine shots – can't wait to share them on Instagram. (You are following me on Instagram right? @PinkTutuEmma, come and say hello! We're a fun and fashionable bunch!)

Naturally, a day in London couldn’t be complete without a peek at the current fashion scene. I ventured into Selfridges and John Lewis (what else?), and indulged in a little retail therapy. And you know me, darlings, I couldn’t resist picking up a couple of little pink trinkets. One particularly enchanting find was a silver ballerina charm from Liberty, complete with a blush pink gem – perfect for adding a touch of je ne sais quoi to my tote bag! Speaking of je ne sais quoi, have you tried their new chocolate truffles? Absolutely decadent!

This evening, my darlings, I have a special treat in store – the Royal Ballet at Covent Garden! It's Swan Lake, a masterpiece that I adore. Seeing the beautiful costumes, the amazing grace of the dancers, the power of the choreography…it always takes my breath away! I’m already feeling inspired, and I know my performance on Saturday night is going to be absolutely divine.

Fashion Fix:

I think we’re all a bit obsessed with everything being pink this season. But pink is more than just a trend – it's a symbol of femininity, grace, and joy. And as the undisputed Queen of the Pink Tutu, I say we embrace the pink-tastic with open arms. But don’t just wear a pink dress, go all out! Try a pink scarf with some glitter, or pink lipstick with a pop of pink eyeliner! I've noticed that even a touch of pink makes even the dullest day feel brighter, wouldn't you agree?

Today’s Ballet Tip:

So often we talk about ballet's grace and beauty. But don’t forget the importance of strength! Those delicate looking dancers are insanely strong! It's something I’m constantly working on, and there’s no better way to feel the power in your movements than in barre class!

Speaking of power, don’t you just love the energy that London brings? That mix of history and excitement, tradition and trend – I think that’s what makes London so captivating! And what's not to love about all those shops, museums, theatres and, of course, some amazing ballet.

So darlings, remember to stay tuned! Next Friday, I'll be posting from Edinburgh – that’s right, I’m taking my tutu on a little tour of Scotland! (I’ve already found the perfect tartan fabric for a new skirt to compliment my pink!). Don't miss out – you know I’ll be sharing all the fashionable fun! Until then, don't forget to smile, stay sparkly, and rock your own personal pink tutu!

See you soon, darlings!

Emma
