#PinkTutuBlogLondon: London Calling!

Oh my darlings, hello from London town! The Big Smoke, the City of Lights, the place where dreams are made of… and I, your pink-tutu-clad friend, Emma, am finally here. My journey by train was, as always, a pure delight. I love those comfy carriages, the chatter of fellow travellers, the soft click-clack of the wheels on the track, all contributing to the excitement of arriving in a new city. Today, the excitement is truly palpable! This weekend is all about exploring London, the city I've always adored for its historical charm, its vibrant energy and, of course, its exquisite ballet scene.

And my outfit? Oh, it's positively London-ready! My go-to tutu for London trips is, of course, pink. This one, a delightful shade of pale blush with soft, hand-sewn frills, shimmers under the dim lights of the train station like a perfect pearl. It’s paired with a vintage white blouse, all lace and frills, and a delicate pearl-and-crystal necklace. Because darling, what’s London without a bit of sparkle, right?

As I type, I'm just settling in to my charming little hotel in the heart of the Bloomsbury district. A haven of pink and chintz! You should see the fluffy pink pillows on the bed – they scream 'London girly getaway'. Of course, no trip is complete without a quick look in the mirror to make sure the tutu is perfectly positioned.

Speaking of perfect, London this weekend has the most wonderful theatre offering – “The Nutcracker”, in all its sparkling, magical glory. This beloved ballet always stirs something deep within me. The delicate snow, the enchanting tale, the pure elegance of the dancing – it all comes together for a perfect evening. You can't escape the feeling that every twirl and leap is pure magic. And, oh darling, just imagine the costumes! I am utterly smitten by the Sugar Plum Fairy’s shimmering tulle gown.

But before I step onto that theatre stage (metaphorically, of course - I wouldn't dare steal the spotlight from the professionals!), I need to do what I do best - indulge in a bit of London retail therapy! Now, my fellow tutumamas, if you’re a girl like me with an eye for fabulous finds, Covent Garden is a must-visit. The vibrant energy of the marketplace, the scent of freshly baked bread, and the dazzling displays of fashion – it’s intoxicating! Today's mission? To hunt down that perfect, twirl-worthy silk scarf to complement my London look, something with a delicate floral print, perhaps.

And if the pink tutu gods are on my side, I might just snag a little trinket for myself from the artisan stalls. My jewellery box back home in Derbyshire needs a little London magic. I also hear that Liberty London is a real treasure trove for the discerning fashionista. I might need a new pair of ballet shoes (who am I kidding? A whole new pair of ballet shoes is an absolute necessity!) for the weekend, so this definitely deserves a visit.

However, my dears, it's not all shopping and ballet, this London escapade. My favourite thing about travelling is meeting new people. I am most excited about a delightful event tonight. A 'Pink Tutu Tea Party' at a lovely garden tea room! It's hosted by a local London group, 'Pink Tutu Ladies'. It promises afternoon tea, charming conversation and maybe even a few tutus on display. Who wouldn't want a little slice of Parisian whimsy right here in the heart of London?

Of course, my beloved Instagram feed will be overflowing with London delights. From pictures of perfectly positioned pink tutus amongst the iconic London landmarks like Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and the Tower Bridge, to images of beautiful flower markets and, of course, the delightful ballet performances - every snap will be bursting with colour and fun.

The city of London is such an inspiration. So vibrant, so elegant, and so full of exciting possibilities! It's the perfect destination for a fashionable ballerina with a thirst for exploration. So, keep your eyes peeled for my latest London escapades! I’ll be posting all my fun on www.pink-tutu.com each Friday. Stay tuned for further adventures, darling, because this is just the start of the #PinkTutuBlogLondon weekend.

Until then, let your inner ballerina shine. It's time to dance through life!

Emma
