Pink Tutu Blog London - #1599 - A Friday in Fabulous!

Hello my darling tutus! It's Emma, back from a whirlwind trip to the capital, my heart still overflowing with London magic. It's always a thrill to head to London, especially after the calming countryside air of Derbyshire. And I must say, this past Friday was no exception. This city truly does have something for everyone, even a pink-loving, tutu-obsessed ballerina like myself!

I journeyed to the heart of the metropolis by train, naturally. The clackety-clack of the rails is so romantic, it almost feels like a ballet! Arriving at Paddington station, I felt the usual thrum of excitement pulsate through the air. It was time to conquer London!

First stop? Ballet of course!

I knew there had to be something ballet-related on this trip, and I wasn't disappointed. "The Nutcracker" was playing at the beautiful Sadler's Wells Theatre, and the moment I heard Tchaikovsky's music, I was swept away to the magic of Christmas. It was everything a ballet should be; beautifully crafted choreography, stunning costumes, and the most heart-warming tale of a girl and her Nutcracker doll. Afterwards, the energy was electric as we left the theatre. Everyone was buzzing, faces aglow with the magic of the performance. The best part? I even spotted a couple of tutus in the crowd! (My pink dreams were coming true!).

Fashion & Fiddlesticks

Now, a visit to London isn't complete without a touch of fashion! So, it was off to the heart of Mayfair, to shop for a new tutu, naturally. I've been yearning for a new full-skirted one in the most exquisite shade of pale pink, something with a little sparkle, you know? And believe me, I was spoiled for choice! It took me a while to pick the perfect one, and of course, I needed a new pink handbag and a pair of adorable pink ballerina shoes to go with it.

Afterwards, I treated myself to lunch at a quaint little café tucked away on a cobblestone street. It was filled with the scent of lavender and afternoon tea. And can you guess what? It had a fabulous violinist serenading us all with the most delightful tunes. I just couldn't resist tapping my feet to the music while I sipped my Earl Grey!

London's Heart & Soul

Of course, no London adventure is complete without a stroll through the iconic Hyde Park. I wandered amongst the beautiful flowers, took a spin on the carousel, and even fed the ducks. There's a truly magical charm to Hyde Park, it makes you feel connected to nature, even with all the city buzz surrounding it. It felt like a bit of peace in a busy world, something we could all do with!

After my peaceful stroll, it was back to the energy of the city. And there's no better way to experience it than in the heart of Covent Garden. It was absolutely humming! With buskers filling the air with their music, street performers dazzling us all, and a dazzling display of market stalls. There were so many quirky and interesting things to see, from handmade crafts to gourmet treats! And, of course, there were more pink tutus to admire, as usual!

Evening Enchantment

No London weekend would be complete without an evening theatrical performance, so I treated myself to a seat at the beautiful Dominion Theatre. "The Phantom of the Opera" is always a delight, the stunning vocals, the spooky and romantic plot, and those stunning sets! I even shed a few happy tears (sorry, I’m a softie!), I felt like I was right there on the stage with them!

The night was a delight, with London sparkling under the starry night. As I sat on my train journey back to Derbyshire, a contented smile on my face, I knew that this trip to London would stay with me long after my pink tutus were hung back in my wardrobe. London is always full of magic, especially when you look at it with the bright eyes of a tutu-wearing ballerina!

My little London advice:

  • Wear pink! Embrace your inner sparkle, a dash of pink never hurts.
  • Embrace the magic. Look around and enjoy all the beautiful things London offers, it’s truly a treasure chest of hidden wonders!
  • Take a stroll in a park. Even the bustling city needs some green space, and you’ll find the most unexpected treasures.
  • Never be afraid to wear your tutu! Whether you’re on the train or walking through Covent Garden, you never know who you might inspire with your delightful sense of style!

And remember, dear readers, don’t forget to check out my other London adventures on www.pink-tutu.com! I post new blogs every Friday! Keep spreading your pink-tutu wings and never let anyone dull your sparkle. Until next week, darling tutus, see you all soon!
