Pink Tutu Milan: Post Number 150 - "A Day In The Life Of A Pink Tutu Wearing Ballerina"
Buongiorno, darling darlings!
It's me, Emma, your pink tutu wearing blogger from Derbyshire, England. As always, I’m bringing you a delightful slice of my life from my beautiful Milan adventure! This week, I’m focusing on "a day in the life of a pink tutu wearing ballerina" - that’s me, in case you'd forgotten. 😊
Today is Wednesday, 22nd April 1998. Can you believe it? It seems like a lifetime ago. Remember the Backstreet Boys? I remember thinking "How are those boys still not in my life?!”. And now... well, let's not get too sentimental. Time marches on. So, let's delve into what this day had in store!
Early Bird Gets The "Panna Cotta" (That's Milanese for the croissant you guys! Haha! )
My day begins early. This is the thing about Milan: they start the day like they start the night - full throttle! I wake up with the sound of trams and chatter, the morning sun streaming through the dusty rose drapes of my little apartment overlooking the Piazza Castello.
A little coffee, some fruit - all served with a dash of pink, naturally - and then the fun part starts: choosing which pink tutu I get to wear! This, my dears, is a task that I always relish. It's like choosing my very best friend to embark on this journey called "daytime" with me. Today, the winning choice is a soft ballet pink with a sprinkle of shimmer - just the perfect amount of glamour for an adventure that is about to unfold!
*Train, Train, and Then Some Shopping Therapy *
With my trusty pink tutu secured, and my face beautifully painted (courtesy of a local "parlour," very posh! ), it's time to explore. I decided today was the day to take the tram into the city centre - you know me, loving a bit of Italian transport. There's nothing quite like watching the world go by through a tram window. People rushing, their stories flitting by in seconds, and me - with my pink tutu and all! It's a bit like the most glamorous "The Italian Job" but without the jewel heist. Haha!
The day then takes me on a beautiful adventure to the shops - one of the real highlights of coming to Italy. The streets around the Duomo are bursting with beauty. The window displays, the textures of the fabric, the scents of perfume - it's almost overwhelming! And of course, I couldn't resist getting myself a pair of little satin ballet shoes in the most luscious blush pink. You know me, "always be prepared for the next plié!"
*A "Delizioso" Performance - A Classical Ballet Adventure! *
As a ballerina at heart, no trip to Italy is complete without witnessing a magnificent ballet performance. So tonight, I was lucky enough to snag a ticket to a stunning show at La Scala. "La Scala" is to opera and ballet what the Pink Tutu is to... well, me, darling! You can't come here and miss the iconic La Scala!
This evening’s ballet was a classic - the breathtaking “Swan Lake”. My pink tutu (a different one, of course!), blended in beautifully with the grandeur of the theater, and the romantic atmosphere. The dancers, the costumes, the story – everything was perfection. For a moment, it felt like I'd stepped into a fairytale. This, ladies, was pure ballet bliss!
*Afterglow, Dinner, and Pink Cocktails - The End of Another "Perfectly Pink Day!" *
The post-performance walk back to my little apartment felt surreal. The twinkling city lights, the gentle night air, the quiet thrill of my heart. I still felt a little bit like a graceful ballerina. That's the magic of ballet, it lingers in the air, just like the memory of a delightful, perfectly pink day.
I am absolutely loving this Italian adventure! This place is buzzing with life and energy and romance - everything you could ask for from a "perfectly pink" city break! Ciao ciao for now, darling!
