Ciao Bella!
It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... a brand new Pink Tutu Milan blog post! This week I've landed in Milan, Italy, and let me tell you, it's a pink paradise! From the chic boutiques to the buzzing streets, this city is oozing with fashion inspiration, and I'm absolutely soaking it all up.
It was a quick train journey from Verona to Milan. I love travelling by train. It allows you to really see the landscape unfold, which can be pretty magical! Especially when you're tucked up in a carriage wearing your trusty pink tutu, of course! (Let's be honest, my pink tutu travels everywhere with me.)
I arrived at Milano Centrale Station feeling a bit peckish after the journey, so I made a beeline for the delicious street food stalls. You can't visit Italy without trying the gelato, and this week it's going to be my breakfast, lunch and dinner (maybe). I'm even thinking about adding it to my tutu… if you can call that culinary art!
But let's get back to Milan itself! It's an absolute wonderland of architecture, art, and of course, fashion! From the moment I stepped out of the station, I was greeted with cobblestone streets and magnificent buildings that look straight out of a fairytale.
A Ballet Extravaganza!
My reason for visiting Milan this week is a big one. This Saturday I'm attending a stunning ballet performance at the Teatro alla Scala! This iconic opera house has a history that is simply breathtaking, and to experience a ballet performance in such a historic setting, well, it's going to be pure magic.
I've already chosen my outfit, a soft tulle tutu in the most gorgeous shade of dusty rose paired with a sparkling black velvet bodice. It's going to be so much fun finding a matching lipstick to create the perfect "Pink Tutu Milan" look. And of course, my ballet flats are already packed. Nothing complements a pink tutu quite like a sparkly pair of ballet flats!
Finding the Perfect Pink Tutu
Every city I visit offers a treasure trove of fashion inspiration. I simply have to go exploring, and, Milan has not disappointed! I've already discovered a boutique that's an absolute dream for tutu-lovers! It's filled with the most incredible, elegant tutus. Pink, naturally.
You wouldn't believe the beautiful selection of tutus that they had in the shop. From delicate and romantic tutus to daring and theatrical creations, it was a veritable pink wonderland. I must say, I spent a good hour just admiring the beauty of the intricate designs and the delicate layers of tulle. It's quite amazing how something so simple can create such a stunning impact.
But the most exciting part of the experience was trying on the tutus! Now, I can never resist a good tutu try-on. It's a right of passage for a tutu enthusiast like myself. I tried on so many, each one feeling more spectacular than the last. I have to confess, I even tried on one that had a bit of feather trim - I must admit, it did give my tutu game a whole new level of elegance!
Dancing Around Milan - Trams, Theatres, and Tutu Fun!
Let's talk about getting around Milan! My favourite mode of transport, after a trusty pink tutu, has to be the tram! Not only are they super charming, but they are so much more efficient than walking, which means I can do even more exploring!
I spent a wonderful afternoon touring the city in a beautiful tram with ornate detailing, much like the city itself. I took a journey to the famous Piazza del Duomo, where I was blown away by the Duomo di Milano. It's like something out of a dream - absolutely magnificent! The intricate carvings, the grand architecture, it's just mesmerizing!
But of course, every day is a performance when you're wearing a pink tutu. I'm never shy to give a little twirl or even a few graceful steps in a crowded piazza. It seems like people love seeing me enjoy myself. I love seeing them smile, they even get to see my beautiful pink tutu. It truly makes every outing an exciting adventure!
Speaking of adventures, tonight I’m heading to the Teatro degli Arcimboldi for an incredible ballet production of Giselle. Now, this is going to be a real treat! I can’t wait to immerse myself in the world of classical ballet and watch the dancers glide across the stage, their movements graceful and fluid. This is a dance experience I’ll remember for years to come!
Milan, The Fashion Capital, And Me!
Now, I'd be remiss if I didn't talk about the fashion scene in Milan. This city is known for its fashion, for good reason. It's everywhere! The boutiques are breathtaking, filled with the most exquisite clothing, from stunning gowns and elegant suits to trendy streetwear and innovative designs.
I'm obsessed with the way fashion is seamlessly incorporated into Milan's life, from the elegant windows of designer boutiques to the latest trends showcased on the streets. This city really takes fashion seriously and encourages personal style. Even the trams have a chic elegance about them.
And you know what else? It's a place where everyone, including myself, can be bold and confident in their own unique style! I’ve always believed that every outfit is a stage, a chance to express yourself creatively and show the world your inner diva. Of course, a pink tutu helps express yourself even more.
This week, Milan is proving to be a wonderland of creative inspiration. My creative spirit is flowing and so are my ideas for future tutu designs! I'm just itching to design new pink tutus! It’s hard to keep the design inspiration bottled up.
