Pink Tutu Milan #255: La Dolce Vita in a Pink Tutu!

Ciao bellas! It’s your favourite pink-tutu-clad travel blogger, Emma, reporting live from Milano! The city of fashion, glamour, and… surprisingly… pink tutus? Well, maybe not quite the last one, but I’m here to make it happen, one tulle-filled step at a time!

This week has been a whirlwind of* la dolce vita* – delicious food, beautiful architecture, and enough shopping to make my head spin. Of course, I couldn’t resist a trip to La Scala, Milan's famous opera house. Did you know that it’s one of the most important opera houses in the world? And it’s just a hop, skip, and a jump from my little pink apartment nestled in the heart of the city. The cobblestone streets and bustling squares are a sensory delight, especially when you’re twirling around in a vibrant pink tutu, attracting curious glances and envious smiles.

Speaking of twirling, I’ve found a fantastic ballet studio in Milan, where they teach both traditional ballet and, brace yourselves, ballet street! I'm not talking about street ballet – that sounds terribly pedestrian, don’t you think? Ballet street is all about the fun and the freedom of expressing yourself through movement, and it involves some seriously impressive steps, spins, and jumps. I mean, can you imagine a ballet sequence incorporating street-style elements? It’s a beautiful and unexpected fusion! It makes me so excited for the future of dance.

Wednesday Adventures:

The highlight of my week, however, was my Wednesday excursion! Today, I decided to visit the Castello Sforzesco, a magnificent castle that is both impressive and historical. It was built in the 14th century and has stood strong through many battles and eras. Imagine how many stories these stone walls could tell! As I explored its beautiful courtyards and art galleries, I couldn't help but imagine myself a brave and beautiful princess stepping into history. The Castello Sforzesco is so stunningly beautiful that I couldn’t resist a photo op in my pink tutu. Honestly, can you blame me? It's the perfect backdrop for my ballerina dreams!

Of course, no trip to Milan would be complete without a proper aperitivo hour. I indulged in a Spritz (because obviously) and devoured some of the most delicious cheese and charcuterie I’ve ever tasted. They don’t mess around with food in Milan! I couldn’t resist purchasing some local delicacies, such as artisanal balsamic vinegar and an entire basket of delicious, perfectly ripened figs. Don’t worry, my fellow tutu wearers, I have a delicious recipe planned for next week’s blog.

The Power of the Pink Tutu

Here in Milan, the locals are obsessed with fashion, and it shows! The streets are bursting with vibrant colours and the latest styles. I’ve even spotted a few tutus here and there, but not nearly enough, especially not in pink! The more I explore this magnificent city, the more I believe that the pink tutu can conquer any city in the world! Just picture it, ladies: a pink tutu in Rome's Coliseum, a pink tutu amidst the Eiffel Tower's romance, a pink tutu standing tall amidst the Empire State Building's steel and glass!

My mission in life? To share my passion for ballet, travel, and most importantly, the joy of wearing a pink tutu! I truly believe that every woman has a ballerina inside, waiting to burst out. So, if you're ever feeling down or a little lost, just remember the power of a pink tutu. It can be a source of inspiration, confidence, and, most importantly, a reminder that life is a beautiful dance waiting to be performed.

Coming up on Pink-Tutu.com:

  • Next week, I'll be sharing my delicious recipe for fig and balsamic vinegar tarts. Be prepared for an explosion of delicious flavour!
  • I'll also be revealing my ballet street moves and maybe even share a little tutorial. Stay tuned!

*Until then, remember: *

Life is a ballet, so don’t forget to twirl, and always wear a pink tutu!

Ciao Bella! Emma xoxo
