Pink Tutu Milan: Wednesday 18th December 2002 - Post Number 393!
Ciao bella! It's your favourite pink-loving ballerina, Emma, here, reporting live from Milan! I'm buzzing with excitement because, let's face it, this city is just oozing with inspiration! It's practically impossible to not get swept away by the fashion, the food, and the fantastic feeling that only Milan can deliver. I just know you lot will love this week's adventure...
Trams, Trains & Pink Tutus - My Milan Commute!
This week, I've been exploring the city on wheels! Remember I mentioned in my last blog about hopping on a tram to get around? It's such a delightful way to see the city. All the buildings, the street lights, the little shops, and even the gorgeous Milanese locals... just a gorgeous blur of pink and sunshine. Today though, I’m feeling a bit more adventurous and have booked myself a little trip on the train! I'm on my way to Teatro alla Scala to see a matinee performance of The Nutcracker - you know me, a good ballet never disappoints! But before we get there, let's talk fashion, because that's my middle name (okay, I don't actually have a middle name, but if I did, it'd be something ridiculously chic, maybe "Tulle")!
The Pinkest Pink Dress You Ever Did See!
I’ve been on a shopping spree at a delightful little boutique in the city centre. You guys won't believe what I snagged – a beautiful, oh-so-perfectly pink dress that screams "Emma" from a million miles away! You know, with all the frills and bows a pink tutu-loving girl could dream of!
Imagine: The dress is a lovely, soft pink that feels like a fluffy cloud against my skin. The skirt has this gorgeous swirling tulle underneath – the most elegant way to move! And there's a touch of sparkle here and there, because every dress deserves a touch of glitter, don’t you think? You'll have to wait for a full photo-shoot on my website, but let's just say it's the perfect ensemble to watch ballet in – a dress worthy of even the most exquisite performance! I’m already dreaming of how I’ll style it up with a touch of lace, maybe a cute little pink handbag, and of course, my trusty pair of ballet shoes, perfect for those twirls and pirouettes around the city!
A Little Taste of Milanese Culture
Before I leave you for my afternoon at the theatre, I have to tell you about the amazing Milanese restaurant I found. Let me tell you, their tiramisu is heavenly! This creamy coffee concoction was just what I needed to recharge after all that shopping. Every little detail of this restaurant is perfectly done; a place with so much heart, from the gorgeous marble counters to the staff who greet you with a welcoming "Ciao." I’m adding it to my must-visit list! I’ll definitely share the exact name and address with you lovely lot on my next blog, because trust me, you need this in your life!
Ready for The Nutcracker!
But now, time for the real treat! I can't wait to be swept away by the magic of The Nutcracker. This is my favourite ballet, a classic for a reason! It's always so much fun seeing how different choreographers interpret it. The costumes, the music, the story... It’s like taking a magical journey into another world! And what a way to round off the day! Plus, you never know, there might be another stunning pink tutu on stage to inspire me for my next creation. Speaking of which...
My Latest Pink Tutu Project!
Yes, my creative brain never stops, and this week I've been sketching up a storm for a new tutu! Imagine a flowing, delicate tutu, but instead of the typical ballet pink, it’s a soft, muted pink that resembles a blushing sunset! I’ve got a vision of sparkling gold accents, some gorgeous beading, and maybe even a touch of lace to add a bit of feminine drama. It’ll be the perfect tutu to wear for a performance at the Christmas markets – imagine that, all the festive lights reflected in a sparkling, soft pink tutu! It'll be magical!
Next Week - New Pink Adventures
Now I must be off! See you all next week, same time, same place. I’ve got more fabulous pink adventures planned for Milan, from exploring the fashion scene (I hear the December sales are in full swing!) to enjoying some amazing Milanese cuisine (they say their gnocchi is to die for!)! So keep those pink tutu vibes coming and don’t forget to follow me on Pink Tutu Milan!
Remember, my lovely pink fans, wear pink with pride, and always let your inner ballerina shine through!
Yours truly,
Emma x
