Pink Tutu Milan: Post 566: A Whirlwind Wednesday in Milan!

Hello darlings! It’s your favourite pink-tutu-clad blogger, Emma, here, checking in from the bustling metropolis of Milan! I’ve been dancing around Italy all week, but today I wanted to give you a glimpse of my Wednesday whirlwind, a day filled with sunshine, tutus, and oh-so-chic Italian style.

Remember how I said I adore the thrill of the journey? Well, this morning, the rhythmic clickety-clack of the tram serenaded me as I journeyed to my favourite studio. I swear, it's like a magical carousel of the city, transporting me through charming little squares and along vibrant streets, giving me a front-row seat to the Milanese life. Today was extra special, as I took part in a masterclass led by the amazing Alessandro Carbone. Alessandro's technique is a breath of fresh air; powerful, graceful, and full of Italian flair. His passion for dance radiates throughout the class, making every plié and pirouette an absolute joy!

But alas, even a ballet-loving girl needs a midday refuel. A quick tram ride to Piazza del Duomo took me straight to my beloved gelato haven – you guessed it, pink gelato! It was the perfect blend of strawberry and cream, deliciously tart, creamy, and sweet, and all the pinker for it! Giggles

After gelato, my wanderings led me to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the stunning arcade housing exquisite designer boutiques. Oh, darling! It’s a visual feast. Milan is a fashionista’s dream come true, where the air itself smells of chic. The mannequins posed with nonchalant grace, dressed in creations that could only be dreamed of. My little pink tutu felt perfectly at home amongst these shimmering styles. I think it’s even inspiring my own design dreams! Maybe a line of “tutu couture” is on the horizon? wink, wink.

Ballet under the Stars

And what would a Wednesday in Milan be without a breathtaking performance? I headed over to Teatro alla Scala, a masterpiece of architecture, steeped in theatrical history. The anticipation hummed in the air as I slipped into my seat. The lights dimmed, the stage came to life, and I was whisked away to a world of breathtaking beauty and dramatic emotion. Tonight's performance was Romeo and Juliet by Sacre Ballet. Romeo, in his dapper velvet doublet, and Juliet, ethereal and elegant in her flowing gown, transported me to Verona with their passionate ballet. I found myself utterly captivated by their moves – every glance, every step was full of unspoken story and deep feeling. I truly believe that ballet is the ultimate form of storytelling.

Afterwards, I grabbed a light dinner at the Teatro's rooftop restaurant, savouring the cool night breeze and the city's twinkling lights beneath a starry sky. I was in a pure state of bliss, my senses filled with the intoxicating symphony of art, food, and the intoxicating buzz of Milan.

A Pink Tutu Inspiration

And darling, you know I love to share all the inspiration I gather during my travels! Today, Milan, with its blend of elegance, history, and the “joie de vivre,” has instilled a fresh energy in my ballet, fashion, and style! I’ve jotted down some notes on new routines that combine fluidity with strength, and I’ve even started sketching a few designs for my own tutus inspired by the architectural marvels I've seen. Maybe they’ll have tiny arches, maybe a splash of glittering marble! It's just one of many dreams in motion in the Pink Tutu world.

I know you're probably thinking “Emma, why do you insist on the pink tutus?!” Well, it's my little way of saying “ embrace your dreams! Live a life filled with vibrant colour and playful joy!”

*So darling, wherever you are in the world, dance like no one's watching! Live life to the fullest, in your own personal pink tutu, and don't forget to spread the joy. Until next week! *

With a twirl and a smile,

Emma, the Pink Tutu Ballerina
