Pink Tutu Milan #732: Ciao Bella, from Fashionable Milan!

Hello darlings, and welcome back to another week of pink tutu adventures! It's Emma here, your favourite Derbyshire ballerina, back from the fashion capital of the world, Milan!

This week, I’ve been busy dancing, dining, and definitely dazzling in Milan! Oh my, where do I even start? The sunshine here is just gorgeous, making every brick and cobblestone shimmer. And let's be honest, the shopping here is just heavenly.

Speaking of shopping, I had to pay a visit to Gucci on Via Montenapoleone! Can you believe it, my dear readers? It's like stepping into a fairy tale of luxury and fabulousness! Even though I did manage to contain myself (a little!), I couldn't resist a delightful new blush pink handbag – a perfect match for my pink tutu, of course!

The streets here are overflowing with people, everyone looking so chic and elegant, but it's the trams that are the real stars of the show! They're such a quick and charming way to zip around the city, perfect for my busy ballet schedule.

This week, I got to see the most incredible performance at the Teatro alla Scala, a truly stunning ballet theatre. The production was a magnificent version of "Giselle," and it just blew me away. The dancers were exquisite, the costumes a whirlwind of colour, and the music, well, it sent chills down my spine! Afterwards, I was so inspired, I even slipped into the practice room at the Teatro alla Scala Academy for a little impromptu session! Feeling inspired is so wonderful and the tutus here in the Academy's shop are gorgeous!

You can imagine my excitement for today, it's a very special day here in Milan - Fashion Week. Oh my, I can't even begin to describe it! The streets are awash in the latest fashions, every corner bursts with the excitement of new trends, and everyone is looking effortlessly glamorous. I've just had the most fabulous lunch with some new friends in the Quadrilatero della Moda district - think gorgeous Aperol Spritzes on sunny terraces with views of the Duomo! I'm hoping to spot a few familiar faces amongst the fashion elite and maybe even capture a glimpse of some up-and-coming designers showcasing their fabulous creations. I'll be sure to post some photos and stories later.

Speaking of photos, I have been so busy documenting all the sights and sounds of Milan. My Instagram is bursting with pink tutu shots, showcasing my favourite fashion moments, glamorous cafés, and those beautiful architectural wonders! If you haven't already, do pop over to my page and see all the exciting things happening here! You can find it at @PinkTutuAdventures.

The highlight of my week has been the Milan Street Dance Festival! I love the energy and vibrant style of street dancing - it's such a fantastic fusion of culture and movement. The atmosphere was electric with passionate performers from all over the world showcasing their skills in front of excited audiences.

Did you know, my lovelies, that one of my dearest ballet students from Derby is performing here in Milan! Sarah has such talent and she's been working hard at her dance school. I am incredibly proud of her and I have to admit that seeing her on stage, even at a street festival, filled my heart with immense pride. She looked stunning in her pink tutu! It really inspires me, you know, watching younger dancers follow their dreams and spread the magic of ballet everywhere!

One thing I always do when I visit a new city is to seek out its most charming cafes. Here in Milan, it’s all about "aperitivo" time! You know, a beautiful little pre-dinner ritual with snacks and refreshing drinks. I'm absolutely in love with the whole ambiance. And you wouldn't believe it, my darlings, I stumbled upon the most adorable little pink tutu themed café! The cakes were divine! Pink cake is a bit of a passion and they had a special one decorated with sugar ballerinas!

I’m trying to catch a ride on the charming vintage trams too - the design is a throwback to Milan’s golden age! Just the other day, I spotted this adorable little boy, barely bigger than a moment, in the cutest little pink tutu. Oh, my heart! It warmed me to see such an enthusiastic little dancer! I think this might be the beginning of the Pink Tutu Revolution - one little ballerina at a time!

Remember, darlings, spreading the love of ballet and encouraging more pink tutus in the world is my ultimate aim!

Speaking of spreading joy, I know you are all eager for more adventures with your favourite pink tutu enthusiast! Stay tuned, dear readers, because next week I will be diving into the vibrant streets of Barcelona! It’s a city I have longed to visit.

As always, thank you for joining me on this pink-tastic journey! Until next week, my loves! Keep twirling, keep dancing, and remember, it’s never too late to wear a pink tutu!

Love,

Emma x
