Pink Tutu Milan: Wednesday 2009-11-04 - Post 752

Buongiorno, my lovely tutufarians! 🩰 It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... time for a fresh Pink Tutu Milan blog post!

I'm absolutely buzzing with excitement today because, for the first time, I'm writing this from the beautiful city of Milan! Yes, Milan! My dreams have finally come true. For weeks, I've been anticipating this trip, counting down the days. This past Saturday, I arrived by train, all nestled in my favourite comfy carriage, enjoying the views. It was an absolute joy!

Now, you might be wondering how this small-town Derbyshire girl landed in one of the fashion capitals of the world. Well, let me tell you, it was all thanks to my trusty pink tutu and my unwavering dedication to all things ballet.

I've been performing in little theatres and ballet schools around the UK for as long as I can remember. It's the most exhilarating thing in the world – nothing beats the energy of an audience completely captivated by your graceful movements. With each performance, I get closer to achieving my goal of encouraging everyone to embrace the joy of dance, and to wear a pink tutu, of course! 😉

And, speaking of ballet, last night I had the most extraordinary treat! I got tickets for "La Scala," Milan's famed opera house, for a performance of Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake." Oh, my dears, I've never seen such sheer beauty and grace on stage! It was almost as though the dancers were weightless, their movements so smooth and delicate. And, my goodness, the music! So powerful, so captivating, so absolutely divine.

Let me tell you, I was completely enthralled! And even more importantly, I was inspired. Inspired to see ballet in new and different ways, and inspired to push my own boundaries in the world of dance. After all, if you can dream big and believe in yourself, there's absolutely no limit to what you can achieve.

Now, what would a trip to Milan be without a bit of shopping, right? This morning, I went exploring the city centre, and you wouldn't believe the stunning vintage stores I discovered! The fashion here is just incredible – so elegant and chic. I spotted the most delightful pair of 1950s ballet shoes, made with a delicate blush satin. And of course, I simply had to have them! They’re a perfect fit for my pink tutu, and will look simply divine when I hit the stage for my next performance in Derby next month!

This evening, I’m off to discover the delights of the "Naviglio Grande," the enchanting network of canals that cut through Milan's heart. The romantic cobbled streets, the charming cafes and restaurants – it all whispers of the rich history and beauty of this city.

Milan is overflowing with culture and inspiration. It’s a true melting pot of creativity. From the incredible architecture, like the majestic Duomo, to the charming little boutiques and bustling marketplaces, this city pulsates with energy. I'm completely in love with the atmosphere here!

It’s impossible to capture it all in just a single blog post, but I'm planning to make sure to document everything – every charming little detail, every taste of the delectable Italian cuisine, and every moment that fills my heart with joy.

After all, sharing my adventures with you all is what makes my pink tutu journey truly special! So stay tuned for more from Milan, my fellow tutu enthusiasts. Remember, it’s all about embracing your inner sparkle, living life in a bold, colourful way, and always remembering to add a dash of pink wherever you go!

I can't wait to hear what you think! Let me know in the comments section below.

Until next Monday, Love, Emma xx
