Pink Tutu Milan: Post #866 - Wednesday 11th January 2012

Ciao bella!

This is Emma, your friendly neighbourhood pink tutu enthusiast, signing in live from the glorious city of Milan! The sun is shining, the air is crisp, and the fashion scene is bubbling like a pot of rich Italian espresso. I just know this week in Milan is going to be an absolute whirlwind, packed with ballet delights, delicious pasta, and a healthy dose of shopping therapy!

From Derbyshire to Milan - Following my Pink Tutu Dream

For those who are new to my blog, www.pink-tutu.com, let me introduce myself! I'm Emma, a ballet-obsessed twenty-something from the heart of Derbyshire, England. My life's ambition? To bring a little bit of pink tutu magic to the world, one graceful twirl at a time!

You might be wondering, how does a girl from Derbyshire find herself in the fashion capital of the world? Well, I’ve discovered a beautiful secret: ballet is my passport! I earn my travel funds by dancing – from graceful ballets to energetic street performances, every pirouette takes me closer to my dream of exploring the world.

Milan, You are my Canvas!

Speaking of dreams, Milan is just as intoxicating as I imagined it would be. The streets are alive with creativity, and the atmosphere is positively electrifying. Every cobblestone, every storefront, every cafe terrace... it's all a breathtaking piece of art waiting to be explored.

My first adventure this week is exploring the majestic Teatro alla Scala, a grand opera house steeped in history and boasting a legacy of iconic performances. Just imagine – a symphony of sound, breathtaking costumes, and those magical ballets, all unfolding on this grand stage!

The Power of a Pink Tutu (and a good cup of coffee!)

Now, while my obsession with ballet might be evident, there's something else that fuels my adventurous spirit: coffee. Specifically, that delicious Italian espresso, the perfect companion for exploring this city's artistic soul. And of course, every pink tutu needs a good cup of coffee, so it's essential for the day’s adventures.

And you just know I can't talk about Milan without mentioning the shopping! From vintage treasures to high-end fashion, Milan has it all. This city is my playground for unleashing my inner fashionista – I simply adore finding a gorgeous dress or unique accessory to complete my ballet look. This time, I’m on the lookout for a stunning black sequined dress, perfect for a grand night out at the Teatro alla Scala!

Don’t Forget The Tram

Milan has an incredibly efficient tram network, which I adore! What better way to navigate the vibrant streets of Milan than by hopping aboard one of these iconic trams? It's a cheap, fun, and environmentally-friendly way to see the city. I love watching the world go by through the window, imagining all the stories that each person carries.

A Taste of Italy

My love affair with Italy goes beyond ballet and fashion, of course. I’ve got to have a taste of the amazing food this country has to offer! There’s nothing quite like indulging in a plate of fresh pasta or a slice of mouthwatering tiramisu, the perfect way to reward myself after a day of exploring.

And on that note, I think I'll go explore a little. It's a gorgeous day for some window shopping and cafe hopping.

Ciao for now, bella!

P.S. I'm starting to wonder… which stunning outfits are perfect for a visit to the Teatro alla Scala? Send your ideas to the blog, and maybe I'll share my chosen outfit for a post later this week!

Stay tuned for more exciting adventures from Milan next week. Don’t forget to visit www.pink-tutu.com for weekly updates!

Yours in pink tutus and Italian adventures,

Emma
