Every Monday morning, rain or shine, you can count on me to deliver a dose of fashion, fun, and ballet from my favourite city. And this week, darling, we're diving headfirst into the fabulous world of Milanese fashion!
A Tutu-ful Dream Come True!
Today's journey began with the most delightful train journey imaginable. You know me, a girl who can't resist a good old fashioned train journey, especially with a window seat, a cuppa and a good book. It's such a peaceful, nostalgic experience, and frankly, the best way to see the countryside. Today was extra special as it whizzed me straight to Milan’s magnificent Duomo – my ultimate architectural crush!
But before I could immerse myself in its gothic glory, I had to squeeze in some ballet, naturally! My afternoon was filled with the rhythmic beauty of a classical ballet performance. It was absolutely stunning. It’s the beauty and expression of movement that truly captures my heart. Seeing so much talent on stage, it made my own ballerina spirit soar! I may not have the world’s best arabesques but I’ll always be inspired to twirl and prance with a smile.
Milan Fashion Delights
Following the ballet, I embarked on a little shopping spree. Let’s just say that I’m a bit obsessed with finding the perfect pieces to complement my tutu collection – it’s an art form, believe me! I managed to stumble across the most adorable vintage boutique. Now I'm a sucker for anything vintage and especially those old brooches and jewellery – oh so charming and beautiful! But of course, my search was ultimately rewarded with some magnificent silk scarves and, you guessed it, a glorious pair of blush pink shoes that looked perfectly made to wear with my tutu. They say everything goes with a pink tutu. Who am I to argue?!
Milan, my darling, you truly know how to entice a ballerina’s fashion senses! Every corner offers a new treasure, a vibrant tapestry of fabrics and colours waiting to be explored.
Life on a Tram
As the sun began its descent, I hopped onto one of Milan’s famous trams. The yellow trams are such a delight, and the view of the city as I chugged along was breathtaking. With all that pink in my outfit, I was practically a human vision of Spring. Every stop, I could hear the rhythmic clack-clack of the wheels as they ran over the rails – such an addictive and comforting sound! It’s always amazing to me how trams blend so seamlessly into the city’s architecture. The architecture, I might add, is spectacular. You’re met by grandiose and colourful buildings which I suspect could have been crafted by Disney!
Sunset Bliss
After a long day, I ended my adventures watching a fiery, magical sunset from the balcony of my little apartment. The skies were a riot of pink, orange and purple – it was as if a magical brush had been dipped into the colour of my beloved pink tutu and swirled across the horizon. It was the perfect end to a day filled with balletic brilliance, fashion-forward delights and the warmth of the Italian sun.

After graduating with honors from the Royal Ballet School, I decided to trade the cobblestone streets of London for the sunny skies of Milan. The city's vibrant fashion scene and rich artistic heritage proved an irresistible siren call. Here, in this cultural melting pot, my passions for ballet, fashion and travel intertwined, setting the stage for the ultimate ballerina adventure!
I’ve always dreamed of taking my tutu-clad self on a worldwide tour of fashion and dance, experiencing every shade of pink on offer. What started as a small online journal, a way for me to share my escapades with the world, has now transformed into a beloved online community where I can spread the love for tutus, ballet, fashion and everything in between. It’s a whimsical world, a tutu-tastic dream come true!
I fund my travels by performing at ballet shows and festivals – so, in essence, it’s a tutu-wearing, fashion-forward life dedicated to ballet.
I may not have been blessed with a sugar fairy's wealth, but I do have the unwavering belief that there’s magic in following your dreams and wearing a tutu, even on your way to the supermarket.
