Pink Tutu Milan - Wednesday 2013-05-08: A Dreamy Day in Milan 🩰✨

Hello, darlings! It's Emma, your Pink Tutu correspondent, bringing you the latest from the fashion capital of the world - Milan! This is post number 935, and believe me, every week feels like a dream. I'm currently in love with this city, especially the beautiful, sunny Wednesday mornings that paint the cobblestones with warm hues.

Speaking of dreams, let me tell you about mine - to see every single one of you twirling in a glorious pink tutu! It's my lifelong ambition, and each week in Milan, I feel closer to realising it. You see, there's something magical about seeing the world through pink tulle - everything feels a little more special, a little more joyful.

And Milan, oh Milan! This city is positively bursting with magic. It's where elegance meets artistry, where fashion dictates the rhythm of the day and where the passion for beauty runs as deep as the espresso in your morning cappuccino. Today, I woke up with the sun, excited to soak up all that Milan has to offer. After all, you don't get to live the pink tutu dream without a good breakfast!

Tram Travels and a Toast to Tradition 🥪🥂

After a delightful breakfast of croissants and fresh fruit at a charming little café near my Airbnb, I ventured out into the bustling streets, ready for another day of pink tutu adventures. I hopped on the tram, a brilliant yellow beauty that zipped through the heart of the city. As I gazed at the incredible architecture and vibrant street scenes whizzing past, I felt a thrill of excitement - this is what I live for!

You know I can’t travel without my pink tutu, so naturally, I chose my most whimsical one for the day. It's a lovely shade of pale pink, decorated with a scattering of tiny, iridescent sequins. It twirled perfectly in the warm Italian air, creating a miniature pink storm every time I stepped on a tram or walked through the city squares.

My first stop was Teatro alla Scala, a grand, historic opera house that oozes both beauty and grandeur. Just gazing up at its neoclassical facade, with its columns and statues, was enough to make me feel like I'd been transported back to the golden age of opera. Sadly, it was closed today (a cruel twist of fate!) so I'll have to save the magic of that experience for another day.

I decided to soothe my disappointment with a bit of local flavour. Milan, after all, is a city built on tradition, and I simply had to indulge in a proper Italian aperitivo. With my trusty pink tutu in tow, I found a cozy little trattoria tucked away on a cobbled side street. There, I sipped on a glass of Aperol spritz and enjoyed a selection of freshly-baked focaccia, savoring the vibrant atmosphere of this enchanting city.

The Art of Fashion and the Call of Ballet 🎨🩰

The afternoon sun cast a warm glow across Milan, making the city shimmer with a truly ethereal beauty. The air buzzed with an excitement that mirrored my own, because next on my agenda was something truly special: shopping in the Quadrilatero d’Oro, the ‘Golden Quadrilateral’ of luxury fashion.

Milan is a paradise for anyone who loves clothes, and for me, that includes tutus! You simply can’t be a Pink Tutu girl without exploring the world of ballet wear, and Milan boasts some incredible stores with the most fabulous range of dancewear imaginable. The luxurious fabrics, the exquisite embroidery, and the delicate details, all mesmerized me, but I was determined to resist the allure of my favourite pink tutu shop… for now, anyway!

Later, my pink tutu and I were headed to a magnificent theatre, the Teatro Nazionale, for an evening ballet performance. My feet ached just thinking about it, so I'm sure it’s going to be spectacular! It’s one of my favourite things about this life - the ballet performances. Not only do they support my travels, but also it brings me so much joy and connects me with other dancers. After the performance, I plan on joining a ballet class just across the street, and I cannot wait to feel those muscles burn and stretch!

Today’s performance, “The Nutcracker,” promises a beautiful and fantastical spectacle, and I’m incredibly excited to watch the ballerinas as they weave magic through every move. The elegance, the strength, the artistry - I’m transported to another world when I watch these dancers. Every pirouette, every grand jeté, every arabesque, it all reminds me that there’s magic to be found in every twirl!

Pink Tutu Dreams and Milan's Magic ✨

As the evening sets in and the lights of Milan begin to twinkle, I feel an overwhelming sense of contentment. It's days like this that remind me why I love my Pink Tutu life so much. This pink tutu journey has led me to explore amazing cities, meet fantastic people, and learn about myself in ways I never imagined.

Milan has been particularly magical - the city pulsates with energy, art, fashion, and culture, and its infectious energy makes me want to dance the night away.

This pink tutu life is truly my dream come true. The way this pink tutu fits so perfectly - it’s my little magic wand, reminding me that life is all about twirling, and dreaming, and following your passion. I’m determined to make it a pink tutu world, and for that, you need to get out there and embrace the magic!

Until next week, darlings, keep on twirling!

XOXO

Emma
