This week I’m in the glorious city of Milan - la città della moda! You're probably guessing I'm here to embrace everything the Italian fashion scene has to offer - and you wouldn't be wrong. It's a true heaven for someone who loves clothes as much as I do, and there's no shortage of stylish inspiration in this city.
You already know my favourite outfit, my beautiful, delicate and whimsical pink tutu. In this blog, you'll often find me pairing it with an array of garments – from sophisticated cropped tops and high-heeled boots to vintage blouses, cosy knitted jumpers, chic leather jackets, or even a good ol’ fashioned denim jacket – oh, the options are endless.
From Peak District to Milan – by tram, train, and tutu, of course
After a delightful journey by train and tram from the Derbyshire Peak District, I’m here in my Italian haven for the next seven days. The first thing that hit me on my arrival was the aroma – the divine scent of Italian pastries in every bakery - the fresh, rich smell of coffee beans from a local cafe; the gorgeous, flowery smells of rosemary, lavender, and jasmine blooming along every street. My senses were instantly on high alert, ready for Milan's feast of sensory delights!

My agenda here in Milan? It's jam-packed with exciting activities and I'm not planning to miss a single opportunity for a fun, ballet-inspired adventure!
Monday - Shopping
My first stop on Monday was a glorious day of shopping, of course. What would Milan be without fashion? First up was a visit to Via Montenapoleone, that street lined with world-renowned luxury fashion boutiques and designers. How do they make their displays look so chic, and those clothes so effortless? I felt completely inspired! I scooped up a beautiful new scarf with a bold floral design and the most luxurious, silk feel. Then onto Corso Vittorio Emanuele II where I treated myself to a stunning pair of pearl-studded heels. And guess what? I matched them to a brand new ballet tutu – because, well, what else could a pink tutu girl do? A day in Milan and it's a tutu explosion!
Tuesday – The Ballet Theatre
On Tuesday, I had an incredible encounter with Milan’s very own ballet company - the Teatro alla Scala Ballet. I can’t deny it, I'm in love with the majestic scale and history of this historic opera house. I even caught myself twirling at the steps of the entrance in my signature pink tutu. You know, for good measure.
And of course, what’s a ballet-obsessed trip to Milan without seeing a spectacular ballet performance? This time, I watched “La Bayadère” - oh, the grace, the movement, the emotions - I was completely blown away. Such skill from the dancers! It was like magic, an entire story unfolding in front of my eyes. My feet practically tapped along in time to the music, and my pink tutu seemed to twirl along with the dancers onstage - almost like a performance of its own.
Wednesday - Ballet class
This morning I went for a ballet class in a local studio. I find the Italian teaching methods absolutely fascinating – a whole new way to experience ballet. I tried a beautiful pink silk leotard that looked simply exquisite on my form.
Today – Pink Tutu Chic Street Fashion
This Wednesday morning I headed to the beautiful public gardens in Milan's heart – the Giardini Pubblici Indro Montanelli. My bright pink tutu definitely stood out amid the classic European architecture, making the scene quite the contrast. The garden was full of happy locals strolling along in elegant suits and flowing gowns - so the perfect chance to blend my pink tutu style into Milan's glamorous mix. Just another reason I love Milan!
The Beauty of the Tram and the Train
Getting around Milan is an absolute dream, especially using the public transport system. I simply adore those bright yellow Milanese trams! It’s like a vintage Italian dream come true. They transport you effortlessly around this beautiful city, connecting you to all the fantastic things Milan has to offer.
You can often find me on a journey, with my pink tutu fluttering against the backdrop of the tram windows, my head full of thoughts about ballet, fashion, and adventures. And just the other day, I caught a glimpse of myself reflected in the shiny silver surface of a passing train, and I realised how perfectly the pink of my tutu mirrored the sunset over the Lombard fields. My pink tutu and the sun – they’re made for each other.
Funding my Dream – One Dance at a Time
I love exploring and dancing around the world – it is absolutely the greatest life and one I’m absolutely passionate about! To fund my journeys and all of these delightful ballet-filled adventures, I work hard to keep my dreams alive. I do so by dancing and performing as much as I can in many theatres and venues around the globe – whether it’s in a beautiful ballroom in the UK or under the star-dusted sky in a charming Italian courtyard. You'll always find me dancing in my pink tutu – the perfect blend of whimsical femininity and joy, with a dash of serious stage presence. It’s the way I connect with the world - the world I want to embrace and inspire in my signature colour.
