Pink Tutu Milan - #1163: Bonjour from the City of Style! 🩰🇮🇹
Bonjour from Milan, my darlings! It’s your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger, Emma, reporting live from the fashion capital of the world! It’s Wednesday, September 20th, and the city is abuzz with the latest trends, delicious scents of freshly baked bread, and the hum of Vespa engines. I'm feeling super inspired already and ready to share all my Milan adventures with you!
Travel by Tram
The journey here from the Derbyshire countryside was a dream! First, a speedy train whisked me away to the glorious chaos of Euston station. Then, I boarded a Eurostar train and got lost in the pages of a fabulous fashion magazine filled with dreamy dresses and sparkling accessories. I couldn't resist snapping a couple of "tutu selfies" on board, naturally!
My first encounter with Milan's charm was the city's tram network! I love trams. I find them so stylish and charming! They glide through the streets with their distinctive 'ting ting ting' sound, weaving around ancient buildings and vibrant shops, transporting me to the heart of the action! You could say, 'it's my cup of tea!'
Opening Night!
After settling into my adorable pink-walled hotel (because even when I travel, Pink Tutu Rules!), I had the honour of attending the opening night of the La Scala Opera House. What a magnificent building! Imagine the grandeur! The exterior is so intricate with elaborate sculptures. The interior! Well, my jaw nearly dropped. Imagine golden velvet and crystal chandeliers, exquisite architecture. Oh! The opera itself was magnificent! A thrilling story unfolding with such emotional depth and brilliance. The costumes were exquisite! I wish I could get my hands on them! I think I even got caught humming the tunes to myself on the tram ride home...
A Shopaholic's Paradise!
As for fashion, Milan is a haven for a pink tutu-wearing ballerina! There are boutiques galore. Some, tucked away on side streets, while others stand tall, like opulent castles! They all boast breathtaking windows displaying clothes in stunning colour combinations. And the shopping is divine! It's a delight to browse the shops, see the latest creations, feel the exquisite fabrics, and imagine my next ballet performance costume.
I found a gorgeous, dusty rose coloured skirt in a small shop nestled near a bustling square. I fell in love instantly! It's perfect for a new performance I’m planning, and even more perfect with a vibrant pink tulle overskirt. I must admit, it was quite a splurge, but, in my eyes, it's an absolute essential for my pink tutu wardrobe!
Delicious Delights & a Street Performance!
Now, no trip to Milan is complete without experiencing the mouth-watering local cuisine. Yesterday, I discovered the "Milanese" - a mouthwatering dish of pan-fried cutlets, perfectly tender and savoury! And, of course, a giant cappuccino with frothy clouds of steamed milk was my companion!
And while I enjoyed a delightful lunch with the most delicious gelato I've ever tasted (oh, it was heavenly!), I witnessed a captivating ballet street performance right in the heart of Milan! Two talented young ballerinas in stunning tutus, gracefully leaping, twirling and leaping with such joy, surrounded by an audience in awe. The music was inspiring! You could almost feel the spirit of this city radiating from their every move. It made me long for a good ballet class!
The Ballet Scene in Milan
Oh! Speaking of ballet! I've heard there are exceptional ballet classes and performances throughout the city, from the grand stage of the Teatro alla Scala to intimate studios offering world-class instruction. My darling, the pink tutu dream just gets better and better! My "Pink Tutu Plan" for Milan is to explore some of the city's hidden gems - tucked-away studios where local dancers hone their skills and share their love of this beautiful art. I can't wait to share my discoveries!
More than Fashion: The Soul of Milan!
Milan is not only a city of fashion and style, it's a city with history and charm. There are magnificent churches and art museums like the "Pinacoteca di Brera". It's a city filled with life, energy and people who seem to be constantly in motion. And there's always something captivating around the corner - be it an open-air market with its colourful stalls brimming with local produce, a secret courtyard bursting with flowers and cobblestones, or the charming little cafes filled with lively chatter and the aroma of fresh espresso.
Pink Tutu Power: Spreading the Love!
Of course, wherever I go, the pink tutu is always with me! It brings me confidence and joy. I can't imagine travelling without it, my faithful friend! My mission, after all, is to spread the pink tutu message - a message of creativity, confidence and joie de vivre! Each week, I wear my pink tutu proudly and hope to inspire others to find their own unique expression and embrace their personal style.
This city just makes me want to twirl! I can already feel the inspiration brewing! Perhaps a ballet-inspired look is the way to go for my next post... I have to get back to exploring this captivating city! My "pink tutu plans" for tomorrow? An early morning espresso with **"panna" and maybe a visit to the "Museo del Novecento"!
Till next time, my lovely pink tutu friends, keep your toes tapping!
Love always,
Emma xoxo
P.S. Stay tuned next week for my post on Milan's hidden ballet gems!
