Pink Tutu Milan - Post Number 1355 - Wednesday 2021-05-26
Ciao Bella! 👋 It's Emma from Derbyshire, your favourite pink tutu wearing blogger, bringing you the latest from fabulous Milan. As you know, every Wednesday, you can find my Milan blog posts on www.pink-tutu.com! It's my little corner of the internet where I share my adventures in this chic city, combining my passion for ballet, fashion, and of course, pink tutus! 💖 I always say that you can never have too much pink or too many tutus, don't you agree? 😉
Travels by Tram
I woke up this morning with sunshine streaming through my hotel room window. Milan, in its springtime glory, was calling me to explore its hidden corners. I packed my pink tote bag, carefully tucked in a pristine tutu, a must-have for any Milanese adventure, and headed out.
Milan is a city built for exploration, with cobbled streets that wind around stunning cathedrals and charming boutiques. I took the tram to the central station, marveling at the ornate architecture and buzzing atmosphere. It was one of those perfect moments that truly remind you of the beauty that exists in everyday life.
Ballet Inspiration
Milan is overflowing with art and culture, and the Teatro alla Scala, the world-famous opera house, is an absolute must-visit. This beautiful opera house is adorned with incredible architecture, and inside, you can feel the spirit of artistic excellence echoing through the halls. My love for ballet was amplified when I visited this grand theatre, so much history, such beauty!
Today, my heart was drawn to Teatro Sociale in Como, about 45 minutes from Milan by train. I stepped onto a bustling train packed with commuters and tourists alike. As I watched the Italian countryside glide by, I couldn't help but be mesmerized by its verdant hills and quaint villages.
After a brief journey, I reached Como, a charming town nestled by a lake. It was the perfect place for a relaxing walk through the picturesque streets, past cafes with red gingham tablecloths, before my ballet experience at the theatre. I arrived just in time to catch the first whispers of applause for the beautiful opening performance. The ballet I watched tonight was “Romeo and Juliet.” The exquisite artistry, captivating storyline and breathtaking choreography kept me glued to my seat. I simply couldn't resist snapping a couple of pictures, the pink tutu was, of course, front and center! 😉
Delicious Milanese Food
It would be a crime not to talk about the Italian cuisine, so after the ballet, I indulged in a delectable dinner of fresh pasta, pizza, and Italian wines, all in a bustling trattoria with a view of the lake. There’s just something about fresh food that makes you feel fantastic!
Shopping Therapy
Milan is a shopper's paradise! It's a haven for anyone who loves fashion. From high-end boutiques lining Via Montenapoleone to independent designer stores nestled in hidden backstreets, there's something for everyone, every style. As always, my trusty pink tote bag is a necessity, carrying my purchases and making me a true fashionista on the go. I found some adorable accessories to match my new pink tutu collection (don't tell anyone, but I might be getting a little carried away with my new purchases!). 😉
A Dance of Colors and Fabrics
It's no surprise that Milan is a source of inspiration for fashion designers and everyday fashionistas. I find it hard to walk down the street and not have my imagination go wild with outfits that feature flowing silks, billowing chiffon, bold colours, and whimsical textures. It's simply impossible to resist adding a pop of pink tutu charm to it all! I believe there is something about fashion that allows us to express ourselves, and Milan, with its dynamic spirit and bold flair, truly exemplifies this philosophy.
More Ballet Adventures
Speaking of ballet, my trip would not be complete without checking out the iconic Teatro alla Scala once again! It's not only a historic opera house but a true marvel of architectural genius. Every performance, every story brought to life, transports you into another world of artistry and beauty. There’s nothing more enchanting than a dance, especially one executed with so much finesse and artistry! I also had the pleasure of visiting the Scuola di Ballo Teatro alla Scala. 🩰 This is a world-renowned dance school where young aspiring dancers train tirelessly to hone their skills. You can almost feel the passion radiating from the classrooms and rehearsal halls as you walk through its hallways. The level of dedication and commitment amongst these students was simply incredible. Watching them practice inspired me even further, it is amazing to witness these incredible ballet performances and their creative vision brought to life. I even had a chat with a few aspiring ballerinas and it was incredible to share our passion and inspire each other.
Ending on a Pink Note
As the sun sets on Milan, casting its warm glow over the city, it's time for me to reflect on this wonderful day. It's these moments, dancing under the glittering lights of Teatro alla Scala, browsing the boutiques of Via Montenapoleone, and even just getting lost in the city’s magic that make me believe my mission to spread the love for pink tutus can, indeed, make a difference. One step, one dance, one tutu at a time! 😉
* Until next time, ciao bella! 💖*
