Hey darlings, it's Emma from your favourite pink tutu haven, back with another exciting #PinkTutuMilan blog post! As always, I'm bursting at the seams to share all the fabulously girly adventures that this fabulous city has been throwing my way!
This week, my dears, has been pure magic, and I mean it literally. 💫 It all kicked off with a whirlwind trip to the Teatro alla Scala for an absolutely stunning ballet performance that left me completely speechless (except for the awestruck gasps and whispered "oohs" of course). I know, I know, I can’t stop raving about the Teatro alla Scala – it’s just that spectacular! Every single element of the theatre just exudes grace and grandeur, and the performances… well, let’s just say they make me want to pirouette across the marble floor until my tulle skirt is swirling with pure joy!
Speaking of tulle, let me just say my pink tutu, with its shimmery embellishments and carefully crafted layers, was positively glowing in the grand hall of the Teatro alla Scala! It was truly the perfect attire to feel like a bona fide ballerina royalty. 😉
After that spectacular ballet performance, it was straight onto the Milano tram – my favourite way to experience the vibrancy of the city! Now, anyone who knows me knows I’m absolutely obsessed with trams, don’t judge! 🙈 I love that sense of freedom as you glide along the city streets, gazing out the window and taking in all the sights, smells and sounds of this vibrant metropolis. You truly get the feeling of the city's pulse!
Oh, and before I forget! Today, darling friends, is Wednesday 2022-11-23rd! The date’s always important to remember in case you find yourself wanting to channel my chic Parisian look (sans the pink tutu of course)!
I love my trusty Milano tram, because honestly, let's be real, nobody wants to battle with the crowded tube! Plus, let’s be honest, the charm of hopping onto a vibrant yellow tram, with its rattling doors and friendly locals, just can’t be replicated.
I swear, Milan seems to have endless shops bursting with the most delightful trinkets and gorgeous, stylish clothes! And, well, as a ballet enthusiast with a penchant for pink tutus and pretty things, let’s just say I was in shopping heaven. 🥰
There’s nothing more joyous for me than scouring the back alleys of the city, searching for vintage shops crammed with gorgeous vintage ballet tutus. And let me tell you, I’m always on the lookout for that perfect pink tulle skirt, something I can absolutely add to my collection back in Derbyshire. After a day filled with shopping sprees, you simply have to indulge in some of the delicious Italian food that Milan has to offer. Now, don't think I'm going to bore you with the same old tourist recommendations – I'm talking about the hidden gems! Those cosy cafes tucked away in little back streets, filled with chatter, laughter, and the scent of fresh pastries. Oh, and let's not forget the gelato! 🍨
Oh, the sheer joy of licking up a cup of deliciously rich and creamy gelato – the taste simply bursts with flavour! 🍧 The rich creamy hazelnut, the tangy tangy passionfruit, the pure creamy vanilla… I swear they even have a "pink tutu" flavoured gelato now, it’s simply divine! 😉
But before you get too distracted by all the yummy Italian delicacies, let me take a moment to share another exciting highlight of my trip.
Tonight, the most breathtaking show awaits! Oh, to be transported by the beauty and grace of a classical ballet performance, the world dissolving away until you're immersed in a world of dreams and fantasy. ✨ There is something magical about seeing the intricate storytelling and emotion unfold on stage through the captivating dance and expressive artistry. Every moment, from the poised poses to the intricate leaps, just ignites my passion for this enchanting art form!
This week's show is La Sylphide, and let me tell you, my fellow dance aficionados, this one promises to be spectacular! Imagine whimsical forest sprites, captivating dances of grace and flirtation, and maybe even a few mischievous spirits. With the beautiful costumes, expressive movements and, of course, the dazzling choreography, La Sylphide has always been one of my favourites!
But there’s a reason why I’m so incredibly grateful for all these amazing experiences! The beauty of it all, you see, is that I'm actually funded by my ballet performances. That's right, I'm able to dance my way across the globe and explore fascinating destinations through the art that I love so much! Now, that's what I call truly living my dreams, one graceful pirouette at a time! 💖
