Pink Tutu Milan: Post #1450 - A Whirlwind Wednesday in the City of Fashion!
Ciao Bella!
It's Wednesday morning and I'm already on a roll, thanks to a brilliant ballet class at the Scuola di Ballo Milano. My favourite teacher, Signora Sofia, was back in town after a trip to the coast, and her energy was infectious!
I'm just popping into my blog for a quick chat, a bit like my favourite quick "latte macchiato" pit stop at my local cafe, right here in the heart of Milan. I thought I'd give you a rundown of all the wonderful things I've been up to this week. You see, life here is just as vibrant as the colour pink and I don't want you to miss a single detail!
A Dress Rehearsal For The Heart:
So, Tuesday evening I had a chance to see a dress rehearsal for a ballet production of "Sleeping Beauty" at Teatro alla Scala. I’ve seen many productions, but never a dress rehearsal before - what a treat! It’s amazing how much goes on backstage and the way the music and choreography come together in such a thrilling, dramatic way! The stage itself is such a thing of beauty. Of course, being a massive fan of the fairytale itself, it was like entering a dream. I was positively enchanted, and I can’t wait to see the full performance next week!
A Journey Through Fashion:
Speaking of enchanted, this week I finally got around to visiting the Palazzo Reale to see the amazing "Azzedine Alaïa: The Couturier" exhibition. The exquisite designs, all with such meticulous attention to detail, reminded me of the delicate work of a ballerina – the way every movement flows into the next with precision and elegance. I think the "Couturier" would have approved of a good pink tutu, if I'm honest!
Shopping Spree on Via della Spiga:
Now, this is my favourite part. After an afternoon exploring the exhibition, I treated myself to a spot of retail therapy. Milan is the place to be for shoes, dresses and bags, isn't it? I couldn't resist venturing onto the cobbled streets of Via della Spiga – the Gucci windows were spectacular, just like the clothes! I snagged a fantastic, brand new ballet bag in bright pink, to carry all my dance accessories. It is quite a statement and already a favourite!
Tutu Travel By Tram and Train:
You're all well aware of my passion for tutus. So, as a little "pink-tutu-tastic" experiment, I decided to wear a bright pink tutu during my commute. As a frequent flyer on Milan’s efficient tram and train systems, it turned heads! The passengers, all fashionistas with incredible styles themselves, just had to give a thumbs-up and smiles - they loved it! It's my personal mission to inspire people to express themselves and dance, no matter the location. Why not rock a tutu on the tram? It’s the ultimate statement of embracing individuality.
Back to my Roots:
Tomorrow, I'm off to Derbyshire for a family visit. That's my home county - Derbyshire, England, it's the place where I grew up, where my love for dance started. My first ever ballet show was in Derby and there's just something about going back that gives me a surge of motivation. It's important to remember your roots!
Don’t Forget the Ballet Show:
I just wanted to remind you all, that you can find my performance schedule on my website – www.pink-tutu.com, and you are always welcome to come along! There’s a show happening next weekend at the "Teatro degli Arcimboldi," in Milan. I can't wait to show you what I’ve been working on!
More than a Blog Post – A Call to Embrace Pink!
I hope my blog inspires you to wear a little pink, take a chance, express your personality and go for a spin around town – even if it's just for a short ride on the tram. Who knows what adventure awaits! Maybe you’ll see me twirling by!
Ciao for now, see you next week!
