Pink Tutu Milan #1498: A Whirlwind of Fashion and Frills in the City of Style 🩰🇮🇹
Ciao Bella! It’s your favourite pink-tutu-wearing, ballet-loving blogger, Emma, reporting live from the fashion capital of the world, Milan! This week, the air crackles with excitement as the city gears up for Fashion Week. The streets are alive with chic designers, photographers, and models – and trust me, the pink tutu feels right at home!
This week in Milan, I’m focusing on the joy of finding fashion and ballet in unexpected places, from a vintage shop on Via Brera to a beautiful outdoor ballet class held in the heart of a public garden. This vibrant city always seems to have something delightful up its sleeve, and this week is no different!
A Vintage Wonderland in the Heart of Milan
I started my week with a delightful visit to a charming vintage shop tucked away on Via Brera, a picturesque street teeming with art galleries and hidden treasures. I stumbled upon a glorious pink tulle skirt with delicate pearl embellishments, just the thing to add a touch of whimsy to my tutu collection. The shop was bursting with vintage gems, from retro dresses and statement coats to glamorous hats and even some fabulously feather-trimmed boots – it felt like a step back in time.
Finding Fashion on the Move: A Tram Tale
I’ve always loved exploring cities by public transport, and Milan’s trams are an absolute dream! They are not only a great way to get around, but they're also a veritable catwalk of street style! It's amazing to watch how the locals create their own unique style using basic garments. On a recent tram ride, I spied a gentleman rocking a fabulously floral scarf paired with a crisp white shirt and grey trousers – pure sartorial genius!
Street Ballet in the City of Love
This city's not only known for its fashion but also its thriving ballet scene. But this week, I stumbled upon a wonderful fusion of both when I came across a delightful outdoor ballet class held in a lush garden near Piazza della Scala, right outside the famed La Scala Opera House! The setting was simply enchanting. The sun streamed through the trees as graceful dancers practiced their moves, their pink and purple tutus swirling in the breeze. I even caught myself wanting to join in, a twirling urge taking over my body. Maybe a few pink tutu classes in the sunshine will be my new passion!
A Feast of Fashion and Flamboyance at Milan Fashion Week
Now, who could resist a peek at Milan Fashion Week? It's an absolute whirlwind of colour, texture, and daring designs. The designers showcase their latest creations, each more outrageous than the last! This week's highlights include the breathtaking spectacle at Gucci, where Alessandro Michele presented a fantastical collection drawing inspiration from everything from classical mythology to the wonders of nature. Dolce & Gabbana delighted us with its exquisite blend of couture and pop culture. The brand unveiled a stunning collection of ornate gowns, opulent jewels, and sparkling accessories – it was like a modern-day fairytale come to life!
Tutus & Treats at the Opera House
One evening, I found myself captivated by a performance of “Swan Lake” at the glorious Teatro alla Scala. It was a night of pure magic! The elegance of the dancers, the majesty of the music, and the splendour of the theatre were simply breathtaking. And of course, I wore a stunningly pink tutu for the occasion, feeling like I'd stepped into a magical dreamscape. Afterwards, I wandered the streets of Milan, reveling in the city's buzzing energy and the twinkling lights that danced in the night sky.
My Pink Tutu Travels: Inspiration for All
I know what you’re thinking – tutus are just for ballet, right? But to me, it's about far more than dance! My pink tutu represents freedom, confidence, and a bit of playful joy, which is something I truly believe everyone should embrace. That's why I strive to wear my tutu everywhere I go! It sparks conversations, inspires smiles, and brings a dash of pink to every corner of the world.
