Ciao bella! 👋
This week, Milan has truly stolen my heart. It's been a whirlwind of fashion shows, street style inspiration, and, of course, the magic of ballet! As usual, my trusty pink tutu has been right by my side, twirling through the streets, causing a stir wherever I go.
This week, my Milan adventures have been a joyous blend of my favourite things: ballet, fashion, and a healthy dose of Italian charm. And you know me, I wouldn't be true to my Pink Tutu persona if I didn't share every fabulous detail!
The Theatre of Dreams:
My week started with a trip to the Teatro alla Scala – the most prestigious opera house in Milan, and perhaps the whole world! You wouldn't believe the exquisite grandeur of the place; gold embellishments, velvet seating, and enough history to make your head spin. It's like stepping back in time.
But what was truly breathtaking was the performance. Giselle, a ballet classic, touched my soul like a feather. The graceful movements of the dancers, the powerful emotions they conveyed, the sheer artistry of it all, I was utterly captivated. I found myself transported to a magical world of romance and heartbreak. I may have shed a tear or two (don't judge!).
Street Style Showdown:
No trip to Milan would be complete without soaking up the incredible street style! Everywhere I went, it was a feast for the eyes – fashionistas strutting their stuff, rocking bold prints, vibrant colours, and the most fabulous accessories.
From the stylish shops of Corso Buenos Aires to the bustling streets of Via della Spiga, it's like a catwalk exhibition of cutting-edge designs. You've got to admire the Italians - they have such a flair for fashion, and they aren't afraid to stand out!
Now, you know my love for pink tutus goes beyond just ballet performances. It's a statement, an expression, a way of injecting some sunshine and whimsy into the world. It’s hard to imagine a better backdrop for my favourite tutu than a city overflowing with creativity and individuality.
Of course, no street style observation would be complete without mentioning the fabulous fashion bloggers who were snapping away like crazy, capturing the most stunning looks. I felt like I'd stumbled into a scene from The Devil Wears Prada. But fear not, my dear readers! I brought my trusty selfie stick and documented the best of the Milanese street style scene just for you. Stay tuned for a separate blog post showcasing all the incredible outfits and my personal style musings.
Tram Travel and Italian Delights:
Who needs a chauffeur when you have the charming, historic Milan trams? The elegant carriages trundled me across the city, and they really do add a certain something to the travel experience. They're like time capsules, giving you a glimpse of a bygone era, while transporting you to your destination with a gentle, melodic clang.
One of my favourite discoveries was a quaint little trattoria in the heart of the city, nestled down a charming cobbled street. There, I devoured a delightful plate of ravioli with sage and butter, followed by a refreshing glass of local wine. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was cosy and warm. The perfect way to unwind after a long day of exploring.
My Pink Tutu Goes to Market:
To keep my outfit budget in check (though Milan is seriously tempting!), I sought out a colourful street market nestled amongst the city's historic architecture. I love finding treasures that nobody else has, especially for my wardrobe, so it was an absolute treat.
With the charming Milanese vendors in their colourful stalls, this market was a haven of beautiful colours, delicious smells, and vibrant local handicrafts. It was a visual and sensory feast! Of course, no visit to a market is complete without a touch of pink, and I found a gorgeous, blush-pink knitted scarf that matched my tutu perfectly!
The market visit was also a chance for a little people-watching, which, as any good blogger knows, is a key part of capturing the pulse of a city. You never know what you might see – from the dapper Milanese businessmen to the playful children laughing and playing in the bustling crowds, Milan was truly buzzing.
Looking Forward:
I'm already buzzing with excitement for my upcoming Milanese adventures. The energy of the city is contagious. My suitcase is packed with enough pink tutus and fashionable frocks to last a week. There’s a thrilling mix of high-fashion events, local art exhibitions, and a new ballet show in the pipeline that I'm itching to experience. I'll keep you posted on all the juicy details next week, darling!
As always, my message remains: Embrace your inner tutu. Wear it with confidence. Let it remind you that you can twirl, shine, and make your mark on the world, no matter where life takes you. Don't be afraid to dream big, dear reader.
Until next time, ciao bella! 💋

Emma’s Pink Tutu Notes from Milan - March 04, 2026:
- Things to Do Today: Check out the exhibitions at the Triennale di Milano, a museum dedicated to art, design and architecture. Take a stroll along the Navigli canal - beautiful for photographs! In the evening, watch a fashion show - be on the lookout for one by Armani in the city center, the place will be packed!
- Best place for lunch: For delicious Milanese food, head to Osteria della Briciola. Don't miss their famous saffron risotto - a must-try.
- Most popular pink outfit today: My signature pink tutu paired with a chic black lace top, a splash of pink lipstick, and some stylish platform sandals! It always turns heads!
From My Fashion Diary:
- Tip: Buy a vintage pink cashmere sweater from a small boutique on Via Manzoni for a retro, romantic vibe. It's super comfy!
- Inspiration: Milanese street style - they know how to rock a stylish bag! I am all about small shoulder bags in gorgeous colors to go with a pink tutu.
- On my shopping list: A pair of statement gold earrings - they complete a stunning look for a chic ballet performance.
Travel Tips from Emma's Tutu Diary:
- Must try: A glass of sparkling Prosecco and a tiramisu from one of the little local cafes! A great way to end a day in Milan!
- Milan trams: They're great for exploring the city but remember, peak hours can get pretty busy.
- Take advantage of Milan's free Wi-Fi throughout the city. It's very handy for blogging!
My favourite quote this week:
"Milan, fashion capital of the world. There is a feeling in the air. An electric buzz. An expectation."
