Ciao Bella! It's Emma here, your Pink Tutu Princess, landing back in Milan after a whirlwind Wednesday of tutus, trams, and tutti frutti fashion finds! ?
This week's post is bursting with the vibrant energy of this incredible city. Let's dive right in!
From Derbyshire to the Heart of Milan: A Ballet Odyssey
After bidding farewell to the green hills of Derbyshire, I boarded a sleek, modern train to Milan, feeling like a princess embarking on a grand ballet journey. My Pink Tutu, of course, was safely stowed in my stylish, travel-sized carry-on, ready to twirl at any moment!
Milano is a city that always has my heart racing, not just from the adrenaline of navigating the tram network, but also from the sheer volume of exquisite beauty that surrounds me.
Fashion Fever on the Via della Spiga
I swear, Milan's Via della Spiga is a street that exists only for me! Every single shop window is a ballet of colours, textures, and design that sets my heart aflame. Today, my mission: to find a pink sequined top worthy of my dazzling pink tutu.
It was like a Cinderella fairytale, with shop after shop shimmering with silk, lace, and vibrant prints. After a delicious cappuccino in a cafe reminiscent of a French salon, I emerged from the shopping spree with a new, blush pink, silk-sequined top. I twirled on the street, it just flowed beautifully and the top, with the sparkling sequins, felt absolutely perfect with my trusty pink tutu. My mission? To spread the pink tutu revolution across the city!
Ballet Inspiration at the Teatro alla Scala
After the exhilarating shopping spree, it was time for an even more magical experience: the Teatro alla Scala! This historic opera house has always held a special place in my heart. The grandeur, the elegance, the palpable energy, it’s all so deeply moving!
Tonight, a ballet that touched my very soul: "Giselle," the story of a young, innocent maiden driven to madness by love and betrayal. The ethereal dancing, the powerful emotions... it all transported me to a world of wonder.
Catching the Evening Tram with a Pink Twist
The final stop on my Wednesday adventure was a casual, friendly dinner with a local ballerina, Anna. She, like me, is on a quest to make ballet accessible and enjoyable for everyone. We shared stories, tips for fellow ballet-loving bloggers, and, of course, pink-tutu-wearing plans.
After a heartfelt goodbye, I boarded the familiar tram, feeling energized and deeply connected to the beauty of Milan. I may have missed out on a delicious bowl of gelato this evening (my apologies to my sweet tooth!), but the tram journey was far from ordinary.
The lights of Milan glittered against the window, and for a fleeting moment, I caught my reflection, and that was me - a vision in my pink tutu! A perfect reminder that every day can be an enchanting adventure.
Until Next Week!
That’s all for this week, my lovelies. I’m back in Derbyshire, packing my bags for next week’s adventures, a return trip to Milano for an exciting Ballet and Fashion week! Keep your eyes peeled for updates, my darling dancers. And remember: the pink tutu life is for everyone, and, it’s definitely for me! ?
Much love,
Emma ?

The Little Pink Tutu Extra:And here are a few more things you need to know about my amazing Milanese Wednesday!
From the Ballet Diary
- I did a ballet masterclass in the morning, and yes, of course, I wore my trusty pink tutu! Even in Milan, pink is always the answer.
- The Teatro alla Scala is massive inside. You can’t imagine how incredible the whole space is. I had to keep pinching myself to believe I was actually there.
- "Giselle" is not my favourite ballet story, but seeing it on stage was unforgettable! I felt like the dancers were right there beside me on their journey!
- After the performance, there was a beautiful coda that added such a perfect final touch to the performance! A touch of ballet elegance and glamour I'll always remember.
From the Fashion Journal
- Shopping is my true life’s passion, and Milano just takes that to another level! It’s just such an explosion of creativity and gorgeous clothes everywhere!
- I got my new sequined top, and even tried a stunning new pink tulle skirt in my favourite shop in Milan, the famous "Bellezza del Lago". It is an actual wonderland of Pink Tutu perfection! It would have been rude not to treat myself, but the price tag was quite something.
- My new pink silk top looks gorgeous with my pink tutu - even when worn with jeans, for casual everyday fun.
From the City Notebook
- My travel time was actually quite manageable! I managed to navigate through the stations in Milan, catching the train to and from Derbyshire quite easily, especially with all the handy information I have gathered through my ballet and fashion trips to Italy!
- Tram number 2 is my favorite, and the trip between the station and my favourite cafes feels like an absolute magical dream!
- One of the greatest joys is that you are likely to meet people with pink tutus almost everywhere you look! It is really quite a heartwarming sensation, and it truly gives me faith that pink tutus will rule the world!
