#PinkTutuMilan - Week 1790: Milan Magic & Fashion Finds! ????

Hello, darlings! It's your favourite tutu-clad traveller, Emma, back from the glorious streets of Milan! As you know, I'm a firm believer that every week is a new adventure, and this past week in Milan has been no exception. Think stunning architecture, delectable Italian delights, and the most amazing fashion finds. Plus, of course, ballet - oh, the ballet! ?

Milan is truly a city that wears its heart on its sleeve, just like a ballerina! It’s pulsating with energy and a contagious vibrancy that makes you want to dance in the streets (and I almost did!). I found myself hopping on trams and catching the train - those little trips, especially in a city as beautiful as this, are always full of fascinating sights and surprises. Milan just makes me want to spin and twirl!

This week, I indulged in all the fashion delights that Milan is renowned for. It's a haven for those who, like me, adore beautiful clothes and shoes. Walking through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is like stepping into a vintage fairytale - I felt like a ballerina right out of a storybook. I even treated myself to a new pair of ballet flats - I always feel my most confident self when I'm in ballet flats!

Speaking of confident, you wouldn't believe the gorgeous new tutu I found in one of Milan's hidden boutiques! It’s a blush pink number with delicate, swirling designs, the most beautiful piece! I couldn't resist - it’s just begging to be twirled! It's going to look so divine under the theatre lights. I just need the perfect performance! ?

But the main reason I ventured to Milan this time was, of course, for the ballet! It's a city teeming with some of the most passionate, innovative ballet companies in the world. I took in the most incredible production of "Swan Lake" at the Teatro alla Scala, one of the most famous opera houses in the world! The performance was just breathtaking. Those beautiful costumes! The expressive storytelling - It was truly enchanting! I felt like I was swept up in the music and drama, soaring across the stage myself! ? The audience was rapturous - they knew they were experiencing something truly special. It makes you realise, once again, why we all love ballet so much, doesn’t it?

There was such a sense of shared joy in the theatre. And even though I'm just a regular girl from Derbyshire (don’t tell anyone!), it felt as if for a little while, I was part of something extraordinary. The thrill of live performance, of a beautifully choreographed story unfolding on the stage, and all of us, the audience, together sharing that emotion – it’s absolutely magical! There’s nothing quite like it!

Before leaving Milan, I wanted to experience the magic of "Ballet Street" – a phenomenon that is sweeping the city (and other parts of Europe too!). Imagine street dance and ballet – combined! The dancers move with incredible agility, combining athleticism and expression, set to some seriously groovy tunes. I'd watched videos, of course, but seeing it live was a whole other level! The passion, the energy, the joy of dancing outdoors – it was truly inspiring!

The Milanese have this way of incorporating dance into every aspect of their lives - in parks, squares, even in the Metro station (though not at peak times!). They’re always ready to dance and move, it’s amazing!

I felt my heart truly expand in this incredible city! I always feel a sense of creative awakening when I’m in a new environment, surrounded by culture and beauty. And that, my friends, is why I just have to share it with you! So grab your pink tutu and let’s take on the world one graceful step at a time! ?

Stay tuned, because there’s a whole lot more #PinkTutuMilan on the horizon! ? I’ve already got my next ballet performance booked and, you’ll never guess this, it’s in another fabulous location. You’ll find out all the details in next week’s blog! For now, don’t forget to #PinkifyTheWorld!

Until next week!

?Emma
