Let's talk about the biggest ballet news in town: The Bangor Ballet Festival is back! This year, the festival's theme is "Ballet Under the Stars," which is simply divine. Think open-air performances under the twinkling night sky. They're even transforming the beautiful Botanical Gardens into a magical ballet haven, complete with whimsical lighting and stunning backdrops!
Ballet's Biggest Hits
The festival lineup is seriously top notch this year, with some absolute classics. I’m swooning over the prospect of seeing the “Swan Lake” grand pas de deux, which will be performed by the stunning Emily and Daniel from the prestigious National Ballet Academy. They're known for their flawless technique and sheer passion. I mean, it’s "Swan Lake" for goodness sake! How could you miss it?

It's great seeing everyone pull together. The community spirit is something else - I especially love seeing the excitement on the faces of young dancers when they perform.

While the festival is a highlight, it’s not all! Bangor's vibrant dance scene continues to flourish. I’m excited about “Ballet in the Park”, an innovative outdoor series happening on select Sundays at the City Park. Think picnic blankets, laughter, and brilliant dance performances under the open sky. The best bit? It’s completely free, meaning you can bring all your ballet buddies for a fun afternoon out. What a way to enjoy the warm weather!
