Picture yourself dancing along with the energy of the city! I’m absolutely buzzing for the Romeo and Juliet production coming to the theatre – a classic for a reason! You can bet I'll be rocking a pink tulle dress to match Juliet's blossoming love story – and of course, documenting every detail for my followers!

Fancy sharpening your pointe shoes or learning some sizzling summery choreography? Bradford’s ballet studios are bursting with workshops and intensives – it's a dancer's paradise! I’m already signed up for a contemporary technique class. It’s the perfect blend of dynamic movement and elegance – a real summer highlight. The studios are offering workshops on everything from basic ballet to jazz, from modern to classical. And guess what? A special beginners’ workshop on barre technique! You never have to be too old (or too young!) to explore the world of ballet!
The Ballet Wardrobe: Summer Edition
And what’s summer ballet without the right outfits?! I'm all about incorporating a touch of summer whimsy into my ballet fashion this season. Think light fabrics, floral prints, and a splash of pink (because it’s always in season, darlings!). The local dancewear shop, Tulle Dreams, has just unveiled a stunning collection of pink, lilac, and peach ballet leotards - just what I need for my warm-up stretches! For performances, I’m eyeing up a floaty chiffon skirt in the prettiest shade of pink imaginable, paired with a fitted, sparkly crop top. The whole look just screams 'Summer Dance' – you can never be too extra when it comes to tutus!
Beyond the Stage:
It’s not just all about dancing – the world of ballet is full of exciting side events this summer. Fancy a Ballet Brunch at your local cafe? Bradford's The Dancing Kettle is hosting these events on weekends throughout August – and trust me, it's just the ticket for a morning full of caffeine, conversation, and a touch of ballet! For the history buffs, the Bradford Ballet Archives will be hosting a 'Tutus Through Time' exhibition – an amazing chance to learn more about ballet’s influence on fashion and the iconic looks of past dance stars!
