It’s been a glorious summer for ballet in Didcot, and we’ve seen a flurry of fabulous happenings! Did you know our very own Didcot Ballet Academy has just welcomed a dazzling new batch of students? From adorable little ballerinas with their hair tied up in pink bows, to graceful teenagers already working on their arabesques, the academy is overflowing with talent and enthusiasm! I popped in for a visit and, let me tell you, there was more energy in that studio than a thousand pirouettes!
And while we're talking talent, Didcot’s very own Community Dance Project just put on an absolutely jaw-dropping performance of "Summer Serenade"! Imagine a beautiful outdoor stage bathed in the warm glow of sunset, and a delightful blend of contemporary and classical ballet… pure magic, I tell you! My favourite moment was the finale with the entire ensemble dancing to "A Summer Night" by Vivaldi – sheer brilliance!

Now, no ballet news article is complete without a dose of tutu talk! Let’s face it, there’s nothing quite like the swirl of a tulle skirt and the elegance of a well-crafted tutu, right? 😍
You know I love a pop of pink! Well, the recent arrival of a gorgeous new collection of pink pointe shoes from "Shoes & Grace" had my inner ballerina squealing! I snagged a pair of these beauties and let me tell you, the vibrant colour just makes dancing a joy!
