2023 Summer Ballet News in Ecclesfield

It’s Emma here, and I’m so excited to be back with some fresh tutu news from our beautiful Ecclesfield! Summer is officially in full bloom, and the ballet scene is buzzing with excitement, just like the bees flitting amongst the roses. 🌸🐝

This summer has been absolutely swirling with gorgeous new opportunities in the ballet world. Whether you're a seasoned ballerina or just starting out on your pointe shoes, there's something for everyone in our lovely corner of Yorkshire.

New classes, New Spaces

Firstly, the most exciting news! The wonderful "Dance Attic" studio, which you may know from their spectacular show The Nutcracker last December, has announced a brand-new, "Summer Glow" program. It's packed full of exciting classes – everything from beginner's ballet for our little ones, to jazz and contemporary workshops for more experienced dancers. Think of it as a ballet beauty buffet for all ages and abilities. What’s more, they’ve got a gorgeous new “pink flamingo” room with some stunning mirrored walls, just perfect for channeling your inner ballerina! 🦩✨

Get Ready for the Spotlight!

I’m absolutely thrilled that Ecclesfield Academy of Ballet is hosting a ‘Summer of Song and Dance’ series. Every week there’s a new themed event featuring a diverse array of local artists and performances, including ballet of course! You’ve got your traditional repertoire, modern ballet pieces, a special performance of ‘The Swan Lake’ in August - they’ve pulled out all the stops! It’s the perfect chance to catch some stunning performances right in the heart of our community. Tickets are already selling like hot cakes, so make sure you snag yours early. 🎟️

Dress to Impress: Ballet Fashion

This summer’s all about bright colours and floral prints, even when it comes to ballet! I'm especially loving this beautiful new range of ‘ballet-inspired’ accessories at The Dressing Room on High Street. They’ve got stunning pink pointe shoes with pearl-embellished laces, cute crop tops for rehearsals, and the cutest ballet-inspired jewellery that's absolutely perfect for those after-class cafe outings. This store really has everything you need to look chic on and off the dance floor. 🎀🩰

Community and Connection
