Hey fellow dance enthusiasts! 💃 It’s your girl, Emma, back with another instalment of #tutunews – and oh, my darlings, this summer in Grantham is simply swirling with exciting news for us ballet lovers! Let’s get straight to the pirouettes…
Summer Solstice Shenanigans at The Grantham Dance Academy
First up, we’ve got the fabulous Grantham Dance Academy, and trust me, their summer schedule is hotter than a Spanish flamenco dancer! 🔥 From August onwards, they're hosting a series of spectacular workshops, focusing on all aspects of dance – from ballet basics to contemporary jazz. There’s a special workshop for you little ballerinas (age 4-7) who’ve just dipped your toes into the world of ballet. And don't even get me started on the senior level classes with visiting guest artists - we're talking true #tutuinspiration right here!
Speaking of Inspiration… A Touch of “Swan Lake” at The Grantham Theatre
Oh, how I adore a good “Swan Lake,” and good news, dear dance aficionados, Grantham Theatre is putting on a special matinee performance on August 19th! This is a perfect opportunity for our little ballet butterflies to see professional ballerinas grace the stage in all their tutued glory. It’s also a superb chance to bring along your non-dance loving friends and family to see the magic of ballet unfold! 🦢
Summer Ballet in the Park: A Free Treat for Grantham’s Ballet Lovers
But wait, there's more! To celebrate the beautiful British summertime, The Grantham Theatre is hosting free outdoor dance sessions at the beautiful Grantham Town Park on Sundays in July and August. You can expect a diverse range of classes, from beginner-friendly ballet to vibrant salsa – all designed to get you moving and feeling the rhythm! It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy some fresh air and the beauty of dance – think picnicking, sunshine and a touch of toe-tapping joy! ☀️🌳💃
Beyond the Studio: My Summer Fashion Picks
No #tutunews is complete without a dash of fashion, so here are a few of my must-have pieces for a fabulous summer dance wardrobe. Think airy fabrics in soft pastel hues – especially shades of pink, of course! And remember, a well-chosen leotard can be just as elegant as a ball gown. Don’t forget a touch of sparkle for those extra-special dance sessions, whether it’s a sparkly hair tie or a pair of glamorous ballet flats. ✨
But that's not all, my lovelies! Stay tuned for more exciting news in our next instalment of #tutunews – because in Grantham, the ballet never sleeps! 💕
