Firstly, can we just talk about the weather? It's absolutely summery (and the heatwaves are just a bonus for showcasing my new crop top!). Seriously though, the perfect weather calls for a splash of colour - think pink (always my go-to!) and bright coral tutus for some truly stunning looks.
Ballet Classes on the Move:
Did someone say outdoor ballet? It’s happening in Grays this summer, and I'm beyond excited. Our local ballet studio is hosting pop-up classes at a beautiful park right by the River Thames! The stunning river views and fresh air make it an idyllic setting to work on our port de bras and leap into the sunshine! Imagine getting your daily dose of exercise and some serious ballet goodness amidst a backdrop that feels like it belongs on a postcard? You heard it here first!
A Little Competition Never Hurts:
The Grays Summer Dance Festival is just around the corner, and I am seriously amped! The chance to perform on a proper stage with beautiful backdrops and lighting is totally a dream come true. And this year, the competition's adding a new twist! It's introducing a special category for "creative choreography," so all you innovative dancers out there have the opportunity to really let your inner artiste shine!
Let’s Talk Fashion:
I love, love, LOVE all things tutu and, obviously, the ballet looks are everything right now. This summer, pastel colours and lace accents are totally in vogue. Think lilac tutus with delicate floral embroidery and sparkling gemstone accents - I’m so on board with this trend! Oh, and if you’re rocking a short, stylish crop top (preferably in pink!) to show off those hard-earned abs, that's definitely a winning look.
Supporting Our Local Studios:
Now, let's not forget the unsung heroes of our local ballet community - the teachers! This summer, let's show our appreciation for these dedicated souls who have instilled such passion for the dance in us! A little extra praise for their hard work goes a long way, especially during these long, hot days. And if you want to show them a gesture of love, perhaps a gift card for their favourite coffee shop could be the perfect way to thank them for their support!
