Firstly, a HUGE shoutout to Hammersmith Dance Academy who have completely transformed their studio into a vibrant, sunshine-soaked haven! Their new summer schedule boasts a delightful array of classes from classical ballet to contemporary, and even some fun workshops like 'Tutu Design', where you can get creative and design your own unique tutu. It’s seriously exciting to see the passion for ballet bursting at the seams in Hammersmith.
But hold on, because this isn’t just about training! The Hammersmith Arts Centre is getting us into the summer mood with a breathtaking performance of ‘Swan Lake’ in August. They've promised stunning sets, enchanting music, and of course, the classic white swan costumes we all love. Think dreamy, elegant, and a touch of romance - just perfect for a summer evening. ✨
If you’re craving some light-hearted fun, then check out the 'Ballet Under the Stars' events happening in the gardens of the Hammersmith Town Hall. Every Thursday night in July, you can join the community for free, open-air ballet performances. Think playful music, energetic choreography, and maybe even a spot of picnic-style food. Bring your blankets and your biggest smiles!
Of course, for me, no summer in Hammersmith is complete without a trip to the ‘Twirl & Style’ exhibition at the Hammersmith Museum. Prepare to be mesmerized by the evolution of tutu design, with vintage pieces from iconic ballets, stunning contemporary designs, and a special section dedicated to pink tutus - my absolute weakness! 💗 This exhibition is like a little ballet lover's dreamland.
