The air is warm, the sun is shining, and Hampstead is buzzing with life! It's the perfect time for some light and airy ballet, so let's get into the moves, shall we?
A Symphony of Summer Dance:
Hampstead's very own ballet company, The Hampstead Dance Theatre, is making a splash this summer with their brand new production: "Under the Tuscan Sun."
Imagine this: a whimsical performance filled with lush Mediterranean landscapes, shimmering costumes, and of course, breathtaking ballet. I got a sneak peek, and let me tell you, the choreography is divine! There are sections that are incredibly graceful, some sections that are a bit playful and fun, and it's just stunning.
They've really leaned into the whole summer vibe - there's even a beautiful waltz scene with a gorgeous backdrop of a sparkling, sun-drenched Italian piazza. Swoon! You can catch this production at the Hampstead Theatre from August 12th to the 27th. Be sure to book your tickets ASAP - it's going to be the hot ticket in town!
The Tutu-est Trends:
This summer is all about colour, darling! Forget the usual black leotards. I'm seeing vibrant hues of teal, emerald green, and even sunshine yellow! Of course, we all know that a ballet wardrobe is never complete without a classic pink, but this summer, think about adding some unexpected pops of colour to your ensemble. Think bold pink headbands or maybe sparkly turquoise pointe shoes.
Speaking of pointe shoes, did you know a brand new shoe line, "Sparkle & Shine", has launched in Hampstead? This new line uses super sparkly fabric - I'm talking a rainbow of shimmer and shine! It's definitely the perfect choice for adding a little extra glitz and glamour to your ballet look. It's so glam I can hardly stand it!
New Classes & Workshops:
Ready to perfect your pliés and jetés? Then don't miss out on Hampstead's fantastic selection of summer ballet workshops and classes!
The Hampstead Ballet School is hosting a series of fun "Summer Dance Adventures" workshops for young ballerinas (and even aspiring ballerinos!). The classes are super adorable - think cute costumes, face painting, and of course, lots of fun.
For adults, there's a fantastic new barre workout class being offered by The Movement Studio. Think ballet inspired movements, set to some groovy tunes, with a bit of toning thrown in. It's a perfect way to work it out and get those beautiful lines!
