Hey gorgeous ballet lovers! Itâs Emma here, your favourite tutu-obsessed blogger, ready to spill the tea (or should I say, the tutu) on whatâs new and exciting in Kentonâs ballet world this summer! â¨
The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, and our local ballet scene is bursting with life! Itâs a season of dazzling performances, enchanting workshops, and of course, enough fabulous tutus to make your head spin.
First up, letâs talk about the Kenton Ballet Theatreâs summer showcase, âEnchanted Summer Nights." Itâs happening right in our own backyard at the beautiful Kenton Town Hall. Can you believe it? From July 10th to 14th, the entire stage will be transformed into a whimsical world of vibrant colours, enchanting stories, and breathtaking dance. The program boasts everything from playful renditions of classic tales like Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker to contemporary pieces exploring themes of joy, love, and the magic of summer itself. And letâs not forget those glorious costumes, my dears! Prepare for a feast of tulle and shimmering sequins - pink is definitely a key colour for the season! đ
This event is truly not to be missed! Itâs a perfect opportunity to introduce your little ballerinas to the wonder of ballet or just escape for an evening into a world of pure beauty and grace. Trust me, those âEnchanted Summer Nightsâ will stay with you long after the curtain falls.
Speaking of introductions, have you heard about the fabulous new dance class popping up at the Kenton Arts Centre? Called âBallet Beyondâ, itâs offering something truly unique for budding ballerinas aged 10 and above. It's all about exploring modern ballet techniques, focusing on strength, expression, and creativity - and it's even incorporating some elements of contemporary dance. Now, we all know ballet is fabulous for posture and poise, but the Ballet Beyond approach is also helping young dancers discover their individuality and gain confidence, which I think is amazing! đ It's a perfect blend of tradition and innovation, and with its relaxed, fun environment, it's quickly becoming one of Kenton's hottest ballet classes.
And if you're looking to polish your own dance skills, I have another hot tip! The fabulous Dance with Grace studios have just announced a summer intensive course. Theyâre offering workshops on everything from pointe work and character dance to pas de deux techniques - all taught by top-notch, experienced instructors! Itâs a fantastic way to hone your ballet skills, learn from the best, and maybe even unlock your inner prima ballerina. đŠ°
Speaking of workshops, my fellow tutunistas, prepare yourselves! The Kenton Arts Centre is hosting a unique Tutu Design Workshop in August. This isnât just about making pretty costumes, my dears, it's about understanding the art and science behind those dazzling tulle masterpieces! From exploring historical styles to sketching your own creations, you'll learn how a simple tutu becomes a symbol of elegance and artistic expression. I can't wait to see your creative genius!
Now, if all that excitement hasn't got you excited for Kentonâs blossoming ballet scene, then nothing will!
