This summer, think sunshine yellow, tropical florals, and a healthy dose of bold, bright pinks. Remember those pastel shades we were obsessed with in the spring? Time to turn up the heat, my loves! Just picture hot pink tutus with neon yellow trims paired with glittering pointe shoes, or imagine those shimmery, flowy skirts that practically float across the stage. A dash of floral, a sprinkle of glitz - that's what we're rocking this summer!
What's New at the Theatre?
And speaking of "rockin'"… get ready for a summer packed with performances! We're talking breathtaking Swan Lake reimagined, whimsical Giselle with a modern twist, and a brand-new production that's sure to make waves! "The Magic of the Mountains", inspired by the beauty of our own Peak District, promises stunning choreography and costumes with a dramatic, emotional edge.
Behind-the-Scenes Spotlight!
The Longton Ballet School has announced an exciting summer programme! Not only are they offering special summer camps for budding young dancers (can’t wait to see their tutus!) but they've also got an incredible "Behind the Scenes" event planned! You'll get to step onto the theatre stage, peek into the costume design studio, and even learn how to create those stunning hairstyles and make-up for stage! Now that's what I call a proper ballet adventure!
A Note on Sustainability!
Let's not forget about the eco-conscious dancer in all of us. This season, upcycled tutus and sustainable fabrics are taking centre stage, making fashion choices more beautiful AND responsible! We're seeing more and more designs incorporating materials like recycled plastics, upcycled fabrics, and natural dyes. And trust me, the results are absolutely stunning!
