Hey darlings, it's your girl, Emma, back with another dose of #tutunews! Summer’s officially here and so are the amazing ballet events in our little corner of south-west London. Morden, you are buzzing with talent and I, for one, am absolutely thrilled to be bringing you all the exciting news!
A Feast for the Eyes and the Soul
First things first, let's talk about the Summer Dance Festival at the Morden Jubilee Hall. It's happening on July 22nd and is basically the best excuse for a weekend afternoon out with friends! Imagine…a breathtaking performance, beautiful dancers, and all under one roof, with the perfect opportunity to chat and mingle with your fellow dance enthusiasts. Oh, and there’s also a delicious tea and cake stall! Can you believe it?! We’ll be raising a glass of pink lemonade to all the aspiring dancers in the area too, as this year the festival also includes a wonderful dance workshop for kids and adults. Let’s get that artistry flowing, darlings!
Speaking of beautiful, how about a brand-new tutu to match your summer vibes? Let's get you looking stunning for all those fabulous ballet classes. The amazing team at Dance Delights in Morden is bursting with excitement for the arrival of their brand new summer collection. Think bold florals, icy pastel pinks (you know I’m all over those!), and shimmering turquoise that'll have you dancing all the way to the stage. It's going to be a real tutu dreamland! Make sure you get down there and check it out before they sell out – believe me, you’ll want to snap up those unique, beautifully handcrafted tutus before someone else does!
Local Talent Takes the Stage
But the buzz isn’t all about performances and tutus. We have some amazing talent blossoming in Morden. Did you know that the local Morden Ballet School has an incredibly successful programme for young ballerinas? It's giving Dance Moms a run for its money with the number of scholarship auditions taking place this summer. So, all those budding dancers out there, it’s time to polish those pliés and tighten those turn-outs - this is your moment!
And we can’t forget our own local gem, the Morden Youth Dance Company. I caught them at a community event last month, and they’re brilliant. So, if you’re interested in learning, seeing, and just enjoying a community vibe that comes with this special dance troupe, follow them on their socials (it’s @MordenYDC – no, I’m not kidding). They're always putting on workshops and performances, so don’t miss your chance to witness the next generation of talented dancers.
