Tutu News from Rugby: Summer's Hottest Moves!

Hey ballet babes! It's Emma here, your resident Tutu News correspondent, back with all the latest gossip from the ballet scene in Rugby.

Summer's in full swing, the sun's shining, and what's better than a long summer evening watching a showstopping performance, with the heat of the lights reflected in your perfectly preened face, a perfect pink blush dancing on your cheekbones? That's right, you lovely lot are probably wondering what delights await on the ballet stage here in Rugby and let me tell you, this summer is hot, hot, HOT!

So what’s new in Rugby’s Ballet World?

Well, darling, buckle up, because the Rugby Ballet School has really outdone itself this season. I hear whispers of a gorgeous, shimmering, summery "Swan Lake" with a twist! The director has hinted at a "contemporary twist" for this classic, which is frankly making me squeak with excitement. Can you imagine? Swans, summer, contemporary… it's literally the stuff of dreams. This July I hear it's all about sleek lines, strong expressions, and a whole lot of pink in the set! Yes, pink, that fabulous colour of summer and ballet. They say you'll be dazzled by the costumes – the principal dancers have been practicing their poses with their tutus flowing, and it’s been pure Instagram-worthy bliss.

Now, this next news is just divine. Did you hear? Rugby Arts Centre is opening their doors to a truly fabulous ballet festival. From August 1st to August 15th the Centre will be bustling with activities. From workshops and demonstrations, where you can brush up on those plies, to costume displays – imagine all those tutus in one place! There's something for everyone. I'm planning on grabbing some girlfriends and trying our luck at some of the audition workshops. They are looking for new faces for the Autumn season so, fingers crossed. If anyone needs some audition tips - give me a shout, I’ll give you the inside scoop.

Oh, and let's not forget about the little ones! The Rugby Ballet School has launched "Summer in Bloom", a fun, energetic workshop programme for kids. Imagine learning to twirl while dressed as a flower fairy! You bet I will be taking my niece!

Now, as if that wasn't enough, the "Swan Lake" finale is followed by an after-party at the Rugby Arms, which is known for its fantastic cocktails, think summer fruit and fizzy bubbles – and oh-so-chic. Rumour has it, the bar is even serving special "swan-themed" drinks and I have a feeling they'll be served with a delicious little pink butterfly straw. I cannot wait to wear my new summery dress with my perfect pink lip colour and twirl the night away in the Arms, with friends. What’s better than a party in a pink, sparkling tutu dress?!

Rugby's ballet scene is truly blooming this summer, my darlings. I know you won't be disappointed! So, get out there, grab a ticket ( or your tickets!), put on your best pink dress, and get ready for some sparkling, magical, and oh-so-summery fun .

See you in the front row!

Lots of Love,

Emma x
