Hello my darling dancers! Itās Emma here, back with your weekly dose of #tutunews, fresh from the stage! This week Iām buzzing about all the exciting happenings in the ballet world, especially right here in Saint Albans! The summer sun is out, and our local dance scene is heating up too!
Soaring Performances:
Let's face it, we've all been dreaming of those classic summer ballets, right? The dreamy leaps and light choreography ā perfect for this time of year! I'm particularly excited for the "Summer Serenade" happening at the Alban Arena next month! This āSwan Lake" inspired piece will feature the stunning choreography we all love, with a twist of summer sparkle. Think ethereal white tutus, shimmering costumes and maybe even a bit of that magical summer air floating through the theatre. (Who am I kidding, I can't wait to get my own outfit sorted!) The show is on July 15th and 16th. Don't forget to get your tickets now ā theyāre sure to fly off the shelves.
Dance Classes Galore!
If you're dreaming of twirling on stage, or even just feeling fabulous, then summer is the perfect time to get involved. Thereās so much going on in the way of ballet classes locally, that even I canāt keep track! I've heard whispers of new āBallet for Beginners" courses, perfect for those just discovering the magical world of dance. And of course, there's always room to polish your moves with the classic āAdvanced Balletā classes offered at the Saint Albans Ballet Academy.
Now, donāt be fooled by that ābeginnersā bit! Everyone starts somewhere. It's the perfect opportunity to get your pointe shoes on (if you dare! I know I always feel fancy in mine!), find your inner dancer, and maybe even develop the next āSwan Lakeā star! š©°
New Faces in Ballet:
While the established dance schools in Saint Albans are going strong, a new wave of excitement is in the air! Iām talking about the gorgeous, bright pink, new studio ā āThe Pink Tutu.ā Itās so cute and quirky, it's already attracting dancers young and old. They are offering ballet classes for all levels, and they are going to have special workshops later in the summer! The āThe Pink Tutu" has that classic feel and style that's right up my alley, with that gorgeous pink backdrop (it's a ballet blogger's dream!), and it's going to be exciting to see what these guys offer up in the coming months!

Oh my goodness, I canāt resist mentioning the summer trends, right? Those gorgeous tulle skirts - everyone seems to be wearing them! So elegant, breezy, and perfect for a balmy summer day! If you need a new wardrobe upgrade for all your summer ballet outings, I have to give a shout-out to āThe Dress Shopā on St. Peters Street. It's the best for beautiful feminine outfits. And you can never go wrong with some bright pink accessories for that extra special summer touch ā maybe a flower-shaped clip in your hair or a vibrant scarf to throw around your shoulders! I know Iāll definitely be investing in some pieces for myself. š
