Summer Ballet News in Shenley Brook End

Shenley Brook End: Tutu News! 🌸

Hey lovelies! It’s your girl, Emma, here, back with the latest in local ballet news. The summer sun is shining, the flowers are in bloom, and… well, I’m absolutely smitten with my new pink ballet shoes. 😉

Seriously though, things are hopping (pun intended!) in the world of ballet here in Shenley Brook End! Summer brings a whole new wave of energy, and with it, exciting opportunities for our dance community. So grab your pom-poms (or, if you're like me, a giant pink pom-pom… because, why not?) and get ready to hear all about it!

Summertime Dance Workshops are Blossoming

First up, we have a flurry of dance workshops for every taste! I’ve been toying with the idea of trying out a flamenco class for a while now, and thankfully, Shenley Brook End Dance Studios is offering one next week. They’ve got contemporary, ballet, even tap - there’s literally something for everyone! Whether you’re a seasoned ballerina or just getting your toes warmed up, there’s no better time than summer to learn a new step (or twirl!)

Theatrical Performances: A Celebration of the Arts!

Speaking of toe-tapping fun, you’re not going to want to miss the annual Shenley Brook End Summer Arts Festival! The theatre programme is packed this year with an array of incredible performances, including the ever-popular "Ballet Under the Stars" event. This year’s theme is "A Midsummer Night's Dream," and the costumes… oh my, the costumes are going to be spectacular! Picture fluttering wings, shimmering fabrics, and those dreamy pastel tones - basically, every ballerina's summer dream! I can’t wait to get my hands on my character’s costume and really bring the drama to life!

Let’s Talk Fashion…Because Who Doesn’t Love Tutu Style?!

Of course, no ballet news is complete without a little chat about fashion. You know I have a serious soft spot for tutus, and with summer in full swing, the options are endless! My latest obsession? A beautiful blush-pink tutu, adorned with hand-sewn wildflowers. Talk about a statement piece! I plan to wear it to the Festival’s Opening Gala and, let’s be honest, any chance I can get. 😄

This year, it’s all about incorporating those beautiful summer colours – think lavender, sunflower yellow, and ocean blues. Oh, and a splash of pink, of course! It's not a secret, I’m obsessed with the colour, and thankfully, so is the ballet world right now! For my daytime classes, I’m loving bright, comfortable leotards paired with light pink, flowing skirts. So chic, yet functional!
