Hey darlings! It's your girl Emma here, ready to dish all the juicy details about the oh-so-chic ballet scene happening right here in Stratford! The summer heat may have us all wanting to stay inside with an ice-cold Pimms, but the stage is sizzling with new productions and exciting events. Buckle up, darlings, because things are about to get pretty… well, pretty balletic! 😉
First up, we have the absolute showstopper of the season: The Stratford Ballet Festival! 🎉 From the 15th of July to the 2nd of August, the RSC Theatre will be transformed into a haven of twirling, leaping and breathtaking performances. Think sweeping tutus in dreamy hues, and innovative choreography that will leave you breathless.
This year, they're putting a fresh twist on some classics. The Romeo and Juliet production will feature a contemporary score and bold set design. Yes, you read that right, darling! Bold! We’re talking abstract shapes, dramatic lighting, and maybe a few splashes of neon – because let's face it, Romeo and Juliet deserves a little modern flair, don’t you think?
And hold onto your tiaras, because the Swan Lake performance promises a dazzling display of athleticism and elegance. It’s set to be totally spectacular. Expect shimmering, swan-themed costumes that are so gorgeous, you'll wish you were one of the ballerinas yourself. Trust me, you’ll be wanting to buy the whole collection. ✨
Now, what’s a summer ballet season without some outdoor fun, right? Stratford Ballet Company are back with their Summer of Dance at the Guildhall Gardens. Imagine yourselves lounging in the sunshine, picnicking under the trees, and watching young, talented dancers perform some of the most beautiful pieces of choreography. Sounds heavenly, doesn’t it? I’m already picturing the cutest picnic basket full of strawberry tarts, a cheeky glass of fizz… and, of course, my pink ballet flats, just in case a spot of impromptu dancing breaks out. 😉
But the summer fun doesn’t stop there, darlings! The Stratford Ballet School is holding their annual Summer Workshop, offering aspiring ballerinas of all ages the chance to learn from top professionals and discover the magic of dance. I hear whispers that the choreography this year is all about sunshine, so expect plenty of vibrant colours, joyful leaps, and an absolute dose of pure summer magic!
