It’s officially summer in Vienna, and you know what that means – it's time for some seriously fab ballet news! Forget about that old "beach read" - it’s all about getting your culture fix, embracing the gorgeous city scenery, and indulging in the art of dance!
Vienna is already buzzing with exciting summer happenings, and trust me, the ballet scene is not lagging behind! 💃 From fresh productions to stunning outdoor performances, we’re spoilt for choice this year, so grab your sunnies and let's get those tutus ready! ☀️
The Vienna State Opera is really spoiling us with some incredible new productions that have had me, yes, me, dancing in the streets! You just gotta catch “La Sylphide” at the State Opera this month. The romanticism of this ballet paired with the exquisite choreography and stunning costumes? It's just chef's kiss. Honestly, it's like stepping into a fairytale – a total ballet dream! You need to see it – like, now!
And talking about dreams, “Giselle” is back in town at the Volksoper! It's always been a crowd pleaser and for good reason. We’re treated to the story of love, loss, and betrayal, and this ballet always has me tearing up. This month is the perfect time to experience it – just be warned – you might need a hanky or two!
Now, speaking of emotions, * how about we step outside? * Vienna is blessed with some gorgeous parks, and they're transforming into stages for a series of absolutely amazing outdoor ballet performances. The Schönbrunn Palace gardens are a beautiful backdrop to see “Swan Lake”. And if you’re looking for something a bit more contemporary, check out the Rathausplatz, where they are hosting “The Rite of Spring.” * It's set against the spectacular architecture, giving a fresh, unique experience. *Seriously, the dancing and the scenery – just wow!
Speaking of the scenery, there are a lot of exciting events happening at the Opera Ballhaus! This iconic location will play host to a special outdoor "Pink Summer Ballet Gala". * You guys *know I'm absolutely *obsessed with pink, so imagine the sheer cuteness of *an entire evening of dance with a blushing pink theme? ** It's not to be missed. For you dance aficionados out there, the “Summer Dance Festival" at the Vienna State Ballet * is also not to be missed! It's an amazing opportunity to get an insight into what a ballet production goes into and *the sheer artistry and discipline of those dancers! It’s inspiring!
