The Summer School That's "En Pointe"!
Okay, let's start with the hottest news in town: Wishaw Dance Academy is hosting its annual Summer School, and this year, it's even bigger and bolder than before! Starting in June, they've got classes for everyone - from little ballerinas taking their first pirouette to experienced dancers wanting to refine their techniques. It's a perfect opportunity to shake off the winter cobwebs and get back into the groove. And speaking of groove, this year's theme is "Ballet on Broadway" - we're talking showstopping routines inspired by everyone from West Side Story to La La Land! So prepare to shimmy, shake, and maybe even channel your inner diva!
Tutu Time: A New Boutique Takes Centre Stage!
Let's be honest, dancers love their tutus, and what better way to express our love for this timeless ballet icon than with a brand new boutique right here in Wishaw?! "The Tutu Gallery", opening its doors next month, promises to be a dancer's dream come true. From classic tutus to the most exquisite designs, they've got everything a dancer needs to make a statement (and we're not talking about just those on-point relevés!). Imagine the perfect tutu for that recital, a new leotard to brighten up the studio, or a fabulous ballet bag to carry all your essential dance gear. Get ready for serious #tutugoals, Wishaw!
The Wishaw Ballet Company is Going Global!
Get your passports ready, fellow dance enthusiasts! Our very own Wishaw Ballet Company is embarking on a grand summer tour, performing in some of the most vibrant cities in Europe! From Paris to Prague, they're taking the world by storm with their breathtaking choreography and captivating performances. It's an incredible opportunity to see the incredible talent that's flourishing right here in our own community! I'm particularly excited to see their rendition of "Swan Lake," which they've reimagined for a modern audience. It promises to be a beautiful and thought-provoking experience!

This summer, I'm channeling all things pink! It's the perfect colour for celebrating the beauty and grace of ballet. So get ready to see a sea of pink at the Wishaw Ballet Company's annual gala! The event will feature live music, a dance showcase, and (of course!) a spectacular fashion show featuring the latest trends in ballet wear. You might even catch me showing off a new tutu design I'm working on with The Tutu Gallery! (Spoiler alert: It's pink with silver sparkles, obviously!).
