June Pride Month in a Pink Tutu in Ashton

Ashton in Bloom: Tutu Pride Rocks the Town!

Hey gorgeous peeps! Emma here, your resident tutu enthusiast and disco-dancing queen. It's Pride Month, and you know what that means? Time to dust off our finest sequins, crank up the glitter cannons, and celebrate the dazzling spectrum of love and acceptance!

And boy, did Ashton ever show up! Last Saturday, the town square transformed into a kaleidoscope of rainbow flags, joyful laughter, and – of course – the undeniable power of pink! It was like stepping onto a disco-infused fairytale. Seriously, folks, you wouldn't believe the dazzling array of colours and smiles on display – enough to make a rainbow blush!

As a self-proclaimed queen of all things twirly and pink, I couldn't possibly have missed the Ashton Pride event. And I knew exactly what I had to wear: my beloved pink tutu, naturally! This wasn't just any tutu though – oh no, this one's got more sparkle than a disco ball after a good shake!

Arriving at the square, the energy was already electric. Families, friends, couples, and individuals – all joined together in celebration of who they are and who they love. There were children dancing to rainbow-themed tunes, teenagers strutting their stuff with glitter tattoos, and older folks rocking out to their favourite disco anthems. The entire square was a pulsating heart of acceptance and joy.

And then I saw it – a majestic drag queen, shimmering like a disco-ball deity, serenading the crowd with a sassy rendition of "I Will Survive." Talk about giving me goosebumps! This was more than just a pride event; it was a powerful reminder that love knows no bounds and acceptance knows no limits.

From rainbow-themed food stalls to LGBTQ+ advocacy booths, every corner of the square buzzed with vibrant energy. It was heartwarming to witness how different organisations were using their platforms to promote understanding and raise awareness. You could feel a genuine sense of community, not just among the LGBTQ+ community but the whole town.

And yes, there were plenty of other tutu-clad souls like me! The sight of a sea of pink tutus fluttering in the sunshine was seriously empowering. We danced, we laughed, we sang, we celebrated!

For a moment, it was as if time itself paused. Everyone, regardless of their background or beliefs, came together under the shared banner of love and acceptance. And amidst all the glitter, the laughter, and the sunshine, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of pride – pride in being part of this amazing community, pride in the progress we've made, and pride in the strength of our collective spirit.

It wasn't just the main event that had me feeling all the good vibes. Throughout the week leading up to Pride, Ashton truly bloomed with inclusive energy. Rainbow flags draped across shop windows, cafes offering special pride-themed treats, even the local theatre putting on a fabulous Pride-inspired musical!

So, if you haven't already, check out the Ashton Pride hashtag (#AshtonPride) and witness the joy and energy that captured the town's spirit. It was truly inspiring to see a community come together with such positivity and love.

I’ll say it again, Ashton Pride was a testament to the transformative power of love, acceptance, and, of course, a whole lot of sparkle!

Until next time, my lovelies, stay fabulous!

Emma’s Fashion Focus

Speaking of sparkle, can we talk about the fashion? 🌈

Ashton Pride was a fabulous explosion of colourful self-expression. From flamboyant feathered headbands to sparkly rainbow vests, the crowd had a definite “More is More” vibe. And it was incredible! Every person was radiating confidence and creativity.

But, for me, it's all about the tutus! The fluffy tulle creations were everywhere - classic pink tutus like mine, neon green beauties, even a fabulous blue one with a glittering unicorn design! It was the ultimate testament to how the tutu, once synonymous with ballet, is now an icon of freedom and individuality.

Emma's Dance Tip

Of course, I can’t talk about Pride without getting a little dance-y! So here's a special tutu tip for all my fellow dance enthusiasts out there: Embrace your inner disco queen! It doesn’t matter if you've never taken a dance class in your life - let loose, groove to the beat, and twirl with all your heart.

Emma’s Beauty Byte
