June Pride Month in a Pink Tutu in Bletchley

Bletchley Blazes with Pink Tutus and Pride!

Hey gorgeous glitterati! Emma here, your resident tutu-loving, disco-dancing diva, reporting live from Bletchley, where the sunshine isn’t the only thing dazzling us today. It’s June, and you know what that means: PRIDE!

The air is buzzing with rainbow flags, upbeat tunes, and a palpable sense of joy. And as a ballet dancer who can’t resist a good twirl (or a generous helping of pink!), I was absolutely thrilled to see a sea of vibrant tutus gracing the streets of Bletchley, turning #tututuesday into a dazzling display of #tutupride.

My trusty, feathered, hot pink tutu is the star of my outfit today, twirling with me every step of the way. And trust me, I'm not the only one embracing the tulle-rific trend. Bletchley is positively awash with flamboyant tulle, a testament to the beautiful diversity and joyous celebration of Pride.

We started the day with a vibrant, rainbow-infused parade. Every colour imaginable flowed through the streets, from vibrant purple and blue to stunning emerald green and, of course, plenty of hot pink! It felt like the whole town had turned into a disco ball, shimmering and pulsing with life. The infectious energy was absolutely contagious; even my usually reserved Granny, dressed in a fetching teal sequined shirt, couldn’t resist tapping her feet and swaying to the rhythm of the marching band.

Our parade was followed by an afternoon filled with activities, food stalls boasting international delights, and even a friendly game of "Guess the Glitter Colour" where the winner gets to design next year’s rainbow flag. (Let’s just say the competitive spirit was fierce, and the glitter definitely went flying! Not in the direction of my pristine pink tutu, of course!).

Of course, no Pride event would be complete without a good ol’ fashion dance party, and Bletchley definitely did not disappoint! The local DJ spun out a collection of disco bangers, encouraging everyone to shake their groove thang, while a gaggle of sequin-clad, pink tutu-wearing dancing divas put on an absolutely phenomenal display of pure dance joy!

One of my personal highlights was watching a group of drag queens absolutely slay their routine, performing under a giant rainbow inflatable. It was truly magical! It’s incredible how an afternoon of music, dance, and a whole lot of pink tulle can make you feel so alive and connected to a whole community of amazing people.

Let’s face it, being yourself in this world isn't always easy. There’s still a lot of discrimination out there, but events like this give me hope that we’re making progress. It shows that love, acceptance, and a little bit of glitter really do go a long way. And seeing a community come together in the spirit of celebration, dressed in pink tutus and dancing their hearts out, well, it simply doesn't get much better than that!

So here’s to Pride! Here's to tutus! And here's to the dazzling future where everyone is free to be their fabulous selves, shining bright as the colours of a glorious rainbow.

See you all next year!

Lots of love (and glitter!), Emma. xx
