June Pride Month in a Pink Tutu in Cleethorpes

Cleethorpes Glows Pink with Tutu Pride!

Hey darlings! It’s Emma here, your resident tutu enthusiast, bringing you all the hottest gossip and glitter from the world of dance, fashion, and of course, all things fabulous. And what’s more fabulous than celebrating June Pride in a dazzling pink tutu in the heart of Cleethorpes?

Let’s rewind the tape a little bit, shall we? As you know, this queen here has always been a big supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, so when I saw a call out for Pride events in Cleethorpes, I knew I had to be there.

Imagine this: me, strutting down the promenade in a pink tulle masterpiece, the kind that makes all the seaside gulls envious, paired with my best disco-inspired eye makeup and a smile as wide as the Humber estuary. Now imagine that vision multiplied by hundreds, nay, THOUSANDS!

That, my darlings, was the reality of Cleethorpes Pride. The town was buzzing with rainbow flags, vibrant costumes, and a palpable atmosphere of love, acceptance, and a whole lotta fun.

I was absolutely ecstatic to see such a vibrant celebration happening in Cleethorpes, a town that sometimes gets a bit, shall we say, overlooked on the glitz and glamour scale. But let me tell you, this seaside gem was shimmering brighter than any disco ball on a Saturday night.

The heart of the celebrations was, naturally, the promenade. The iconic Cleethorpes pier was decked out in rainbow colours, and it was a literal wonderland of Pride-themed stalls, street food vendors, and music that would make even the most reserved grandma tap her toes.

Speaking of music, the music scene was pure disco fever. I mean, how could you have a Pride event without a touch of 70s glam? DJs spun golden oldies that had us all dancing like we were back in Studio 54. I was so busy twirling and shimmying in my tutu, I almost forgot I had an actual blog post to write!

Of course, Pride is more than just fun and dancing, it’s about sending a message of unity, inclusivity, and equality. Seeing the whole community come together in a spirit of love and support was genuinely moving. From the families with children decked out in rainbow colours to the older couples sharing sweet moments, there was a palpable sense of joy and liberation in the air.

Now, let’s be honest, you can't have a Pride celebration in a British seaside town without some classic fish and chips, right? So, I popped into one of the local chippies for a takeaway, feeling the need for a little traditional British fare after all that dancing. The chip shop owner, who wore a bright rainbow hat and a smile brighter than the beach itself, offered to do a little extra dancing with me on the spot. It was truly a glorious display of unexpected joy, and a testament to the warm-hearted nature of this little town.

As the sun set and the colours of the rainbow cast their glow on the sea, I found myself sitting on the beach, the cool sand under my feet and the salty air in my hair. The music was winding down, but the celebratory spirit was still palpable.

This is the magic of Pride, darlings: it's about creating a safe space for everyone to be themselves, celebrate their unique identities, and stand together against prejudice. And, of course, it's a chance to dance your heart out in a fabulous tutu, because you deserve it!

The joy I felt that day wasn’t just about my pink tutu, it was about feeling connected to a vibrant, diverse community that celebrated acceptance, inclusivity, and love. I'm so grateful to have been part of this unforgettable event in Cleethorpes. It really is a shining example of the kind of pride that needs to be seen and heard all year round, not just in June.

Remember, darlings, wear your fabulous colours with pride, dance with joy, and never stop spreading kindness and love. Because together, we can make this world a brighter, more accepting, and glitter-filled place. 💖
